Report a phone call from 281-593-3503 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- BethB| 3 repliesSaid she wanted to talk to me about my computer. I immediately said I wasn't interested & asked to be removed from their call list. This was met with a few seconds of silence then a hang-up.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Kay Dee| 2 repliesSaw the number on the caller ID. Quickly googled the number. Another website had responses similar to BethB except many said that the people cursed at them or called them a name. Apparently they are trying to hack into a person's computer by telling you they're from tech support. I didn't answer and no message was left. What a bunch of low life criminals!!!!!
- Caller: Unknown Caller
- MannyWe've received a couple of these calls from different numbers in the last few months. I played a long as "Joseph" told me that my computer was severely infected with malware and that he was from "Windows support" and could help me if I allowed him "remote access" to my computer. After a few minutes of playing along I asked how he knew that my computer was infected and he hung up.
- chuckGot a call from 281 593_3503 they left on message. I did not answer.never do lf l don't know the number.....
- Demo| 1 replyThe caller pretended to be from Microsoft Support, saying my PC was infected by a serious hack.
- DMThis number has called our home four times this week and no one is ever there when you answer. Have reported this number to the FCC......
- Rod| 1 replyThese guys continually call asking for access to my computer. You read more about these crooks at http://blog.malwarebytes.org/exploits-2/2013/ ... aste-a-tragedy/
- Caller: No Name
- PeggyI had this call a few weeks ago where the guy tried to tell me my PC was severely infected and wanting me to let him remote access into my PC. When I refused and asked him how he knew this, he acted like he was from Windows support and that the PC sent them a message. I refused and he argued with me for a while until I told him he was crazy if he thought I was going to let him remote access the computer. Then I just hung up.
Now they are calling again, just called me 3 times in about 10 minutes. I don't answer now if I don't recognize a number.
My stepson owns a PC company and he said they had called him as well and tried to pull the same thing on him, but of course he knew right away it was a scam.
Don't these low-life people have better things to do with their time???- Caller: No name
- JoeI got a call from "Dominic" from cyber support of Microsoft windows. So annoying!
- Caller: "Cyber support of Microsoft windows"
- D. BainI answered their call and they said my computer was sending them malware and that if I followed her directions she would gain access to my computer and fix the problem. When I said no she became angry and said "Why no! Don't you want to fix your problem?" I said I have no problem thank you and goodbye.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Beth H| 1 replyThis number has called my home multiple times for weeks. Yesterday, I finally engaged in conversation. The man on the other end said my computer was "leaking" information out onto the internet, that he had my computer's SSID, and he even had my name. He wanted to remotely access my computer. Install a scanning program to "fix" the problem, and save me from the "security threat." I explained that I already knew that he was in fact a hacker, and that I had no plans EVER to allow him remote access to my computer. He said that he would be calling me over and over until I agreed to let him solve my problem. I asked him to place me on his do not call list. However, I know they will call again. How do we get rid of people like these, when do not call lists don't work?
- Caller: Cyber Security/Support
- RPK3Same as most of the other postings. A man of Indian/Pakistan origin called and said he was calling about Microsoft and computer problems or some garbage like that. I said, "I'm not having any problems with my computer." Two or three seconds of silence and he hung up. This isn't the first time I've gotten this kind of call.

- Thehangedfrog| 1 replyOk, here is the scoop.
I got calls from these guys (under various numbers) many times. I assume wardialing or something like that.
They said they were with cyber security for M$FT, and I was sending viruses onto the net. They asked for access to my system. I told them sure... (spare computer, locked off of my main network). they asked to be connected remotely, do that.. then for some reason it "does not work" so they ask you use a different system. (put this up on 2nd monitor), he shows me an error file that has errors in it (that is what they are for, normal to have errors in there), says that is proof, then he wants to do a scan. (this off of 2nd remote access, remember 1st is still running), then he does a directory tree. of course the stuff speeds by faster than you can read, and he explains to me this is showing all the errors and virus information (isn't doing anything of the sort). Then while this is scrolling by. the 1st remote access (usually behind the tree screen) starts action. he (partner in crime) goes in and wipes restore points, activates syskey and then encypts the who thing.
He then tells me that he locked my computer for the safety of the network, and if I pay him 150$ that he would unlock it for me. (have heard sometimes they do, sometimes they dont, but they now have your Credit card info).
Now I told them a couple of nasty words, ordered them to fix it, of course they didn't but I was playing the part. I told them I would never pay a ransom like that, they hung up.
left computer sitting as it (once I disabled the remotes) and went to main computer, looked up syskey (to find out how to get to it). in order to turn it off, I would have needed the password, because it was encrypted I could not have used software to sneak the password. Syskey will lock your whole system, if I would have turned the computer off or rebooted, I would not have been able to even access windows without the key. basicly deadlocked, no running a recovery disk or an externally booted device. not even gotten into BIOS. The whole system would have needed to be deleted and a fresh copy of windows would have needed to be installed from scratch. this includes full BIOS reset.
I did however restore the system of my last restore point.. (i used a program different from windows restore and stores the information in a different location.) then rebooted the system. WHILE the whole rigamarole is still encrypted, it wiped the syskey and system runs normally (yeah, no way to unencrypt it, but that is not really a hazard for 99% of the people).- Caller: Cyber Security from Microsoft (Scam)
- BarbThick Indian accent "I'm calling about your computer ok"- I immediately disconnected
- Lala replies to BethBWas called today by number claiming to be tech support. Always someone with an English name but clearly an Indian accent. Usually the number as a z in it so I don't answer. Today I asked if she would like to talk to the FBI instead and she called me an idiot. Yeah I'm the idiot!
- AspooneSame call here. Told him that he owed me the real reason why he was calling us . He was offended. Never mind thank you very much *click*
- RICHSame descriptions as above - said his site was Cybersupport, if I didn't work with him my site would become inoperable quickly - he said he had monitored my internet and he was licensed by Microsoft. - didn't back down.
- BigboretThese guys say I have a problem with my Microsoft computer. Told them I had Lenovo and they hung up. Next time I M to give them them a false IP address. I think it's time we started calling
households and business numbers in India and ripping them off. - Linda| 1 replyMy husband fielded this call. Sternly he picks up phone, interrupts the heavy accented indian scammer claiming to be tech support. He instructs individual to stop calling. A moment of silence and the caller hangs up.
- Caller: MS Tech Support
- LarryCaller claimed to be from "Cyber Support" calling about my Windows computer. I've never had a Windows-based computer. I just don't do Windows. I would have kept him on the line just to mess with him, but I had to leave for an appointment. So I just said, "I have a Windows computer?" He hung up.
- Caller: Cyber Support
