I received an email regarding a post on Craiglist from a Billy Powell in Texas claiming this as his number.
Sounds like a scammer to me.

It is a scammer. I got a reply to a Craigslist ad as well from a Bill Fernandez with this same number.

I'm glad I looked up this name! I also got an email from "Bill Fernandez" with this number, in response to a Craigslist Ad, stating: "Hello,
I'm interested in buying this lovely Wedding Gown for my daughter (Amy). I'm relocating with her to rhode island in some couple of days to meet with other relatives for arrangment for the wedding preparations and also awarded a contract over there. I'm currently in Houston Texas. Please, I will appreciate if I can take a glance and pay before my relocating in next few days or it will be shipped to rhode island if my time has'nt permit me to come over . Get back to me if still available, Contact me let's discuss on price, shipment to Rhode island or pick up God bless...

This is a scammer. I posted bookshelves on ksl.com. She claims her name is Lizzy and is in Iowa but will send a check for more than the amount asked for for the bookshelves. We intern are suppose to forward the remaining amount to her "shipper" and this individual will then come pick up "the package".
WHATEVER!
Not falling for it and passing the message along hoping that it prevents anyone else from doing the same.
If someone is interested in buying anything posted on a website they are usually interested in seeing the item in person prior to purchase and is not trusting enough to send more than what is asked to pay.
What stops me from taking the full amount and not giving any remainder to this so called shipper?!
The checks are fake as well as the buyer and shipper.

We got the same e-mail as I am selling my dress. He responded with how he wanted to send a money order and have a person a Mrs. Penny come and pick it up.

I also got a message from the same guy, but thanks to this wonderful blog I was able to check him out and verify that this was a scam.  Thanks to all you wonderful people keeping the web safe...

I would have been happy to pick up the wedding dress and pay (cash) as a person but time hasn’t permit us because we booked next day flight down to Rhode Island. And as a single father, I do not have a helping hand. because of the contract awarded to me which has made us relocate down to Rhode island. My daughter has however made arrangements with a picker who would come for the pickup of the wedding dress over at any location of yours after payments have been duly made.  I would had love you to send the dress via a courier service but my daughter insisted and gave  instruction that she wanted a picker(Ms. Kaith) to come for the pickup.  So that shipment and handling can be taking care of very carefully with dry cleaning.

To get this clear to you, Payment of the wedding dress will be made out to you before the picker come over to pick up the wedding dress. I'm very new to buying stuff on here and I hope you can be trusted to make available the dress after payment has been made out to you. My daughter works with United State Postal Services and we will be glad to pay with a Certified Postal Money Order. I'll appreciate it if you consider it sold to us via this means.

After payment clear your bank. The picker will surely  show up at your location in picking up the dress. I got an email today from a guy called David Walton who is REALLY, REALLY interested in some photo stuff I'm selling on Craigslist. Thing is, I don't have any photo stuff selling on CL!  Definitely a Royal Scam. We need him and his pals gone ASAP!

This same guy has contacted me about a wedding dress I have on Craigslist.  I got the same exact emails you all are receiving and then today I get one saying my payment is on it's way (with a tracking number) and instructions on how to fill out the money order.  He is telling me to fill it out with a name that doesn't match his and the person picking up the dress (who is supposed to be local) lives in Florida.  Have any of you received money from this person?  I will be taking whatever he sends me to the police as this is a huge money laundering scam and I WILL NOT become a part of it.  He is also going by a new # which is 401-390-3707.

They are a fraud. I got sent two fake USPS money orders from a Lizzy Jacobs.  Then she/he has the nerve to try to request me as a friend on facebook.  Give me a break!

He's still at it, he has been contacting us as well, I pushed for him to do paypal but they refused and I got suspicious. Thanks to all of you when have informed the person that we are no longer interested and I copied this website in the email.

Yeah "David Walton" sent me an email asking if the "furniture" that I have listed on Craigslist is still available. It is obviously fake. I responded that it is still available. I think I'll mess with them a bit if they respond.haha

Jessica- I don't know where you are located but I got the EXACT same two emails from Bill Fernandez. Thank GOD I looked up his name and see that it is a scam.  How do we report this guy to Craig's List?

The Maggie Sottero Shannon Gown is still available.  My daughter owns this new, never worn gown.  The tags have been removed by the bridal store, however this gown has not been altered or worn by anyone, and it does have the certificate of authenticity with it.

If you are still interested, you will need to advise what your schedule is if you want to see this gown and make the purchase.  My daughter works at the Western District Courthouse in Wauseon, OH and she would be able to show you the gown and make the transaction at that location by appointment.

The price is $350.00 cash as this gown sells for over $1100., and you can take the gown with you at the time of cash payment.  I think you would understand, that due to you not being a local buyer, she cannot accept a check or credit card transaction.  Please provide me with more information concerning your address and provide a phone number.

I received the same succession of emails from Bill Fernandez re: purchasing my wedding gown.  I suspect a scam as well - but am interested to see how it plays out.  Today I received 2 United States Postal Service money orders (for much more than what i am asking for the dress).  I plan to take them to the USPS to verify  - I suspect they will tell me the money orders are forged or stolen.  Be aware of Bill Fernandez!!

Don't fall for that stuff. Total scam. Happens a lot on Craigslist. They will send you a money order for a greater amount then you are asking and then request that you send the difference. There will always be a story to go with the reason.
If it sounds to simple and good to be true, it is!!!!

Finally a message with the scam - I just had a hit from this scammer and couldn't figure out the angle.  It was all about some shipping guy coming to pick up my furniture and me keeping my part and giving him the rest - now I see the scam.
I'm not suspicious enough.
