- JB| 5 repliesCaller ID said Williamsport, Maryland. Didn't leave a message. I ran an internet search and it is some kind of debt collection company. We just got a new phone number back in July and I guess the last person to have it was some kind of deadbeat, each day we get a couple of calls that the caller ID says are from debt collection companies, but they have yet to leave a message.
- Caller: Unknown
- AugieNumber has called three times this week. First two times, I was not home, and no message was left. When home and answered, they said they were seeking contributions. Told them to remove my number from their system. We'll see what happens.
- Spam Blocker| 3 repliesI get calls all the time from these leeches for some scumbag I don't even know. I told them to take me off their list but they continue to call. Now I just forward the call to the Federal Trade Commission at 1-888-382-1222. I do this through my Comcast phone manager. You can probably do this through whatever phone company you have as well. I also plan to forward the calls to my state Senators or Congressmans phone number. Makes me laugh just thinking about it.

- Hogs replies to JB| 1 replyDeadbeat?? maybe he ran into some bad luck, sorry he does not fit in your perfect world.
- JB replies to Spam BlockerThanks for the tip, I'm going to do the same thing.
- DS| 1 replyThis a newer number from the usual idiots.
These clowns have been calling me for years looking for my nephew. It used to piss me off, but now I kind of make a game of it. Because trust me, they will NEVER permanently remove your number.
It seems to me the best way to hurt a business is in the pocket book. They do have to pay someone to talk to you once their voice recognition software hears the magic word "Hello:"
So once their rep picks up the phone I impersonate the individual they are looking for and waste as much of their time as possible. Usually after a few days of this a supervisor will call about their "mistake" and tell me they are removing my number. This stops the calls for usually quite some time. Once I did not hear from them for over a year. But they ultimately will start again.
Just remember its YOUR phone, you can be in control.
It a war of attrition with these companies- Caller: Asset Acceptance

- Kim G replies to deleted postJoe I dont know what the hell you are talking about this number, where are you getting your information of who the number belongs to? And its not the FCC for sure, I checked and thats a maryland number and the company you are falsely accusing only has WA numbers. Not only that but the number belongs to Verizon. I saw your post on another number and you gave that same number and it also belonged to another company. I am all about stopping the calls but you are wasting my time and everybodies else's with wrong information. Whats your beef?
- Gunther l replies to deleted postmaryland number that originally belonged to Verizon and now belongs to Nationsline, nothing to do with whatever Lee posted, so dont see how he could have "been removed"
- Mike Vu replies to deleted postI think Joe Lee is a fake name this guy is using. I believe he is the guy making the call. He is trying to divert attention from himself. Joe, why are you on all blogs? I did not hear that you recieved a call from this number. I can find out who you are from your IP address if you continue posting false inofrmation on this web site.
- mary jordanwhy are they calling
- BenMy daughter uses text4free. This app also has VoIP for free (free phone over WiFi).
I answered a call on her iPod Touch. No response. I sounded a little intimidating, probably. I called back on my own phone. Caller claimed to be from Dearborn, MI and could not "legally" tell me anything. He was looking for a Lisa, apologized and said he would take me off the list.
Here's the problem: this number did not appear on her caller ID. No acknowledgement on the app that any incoming call came in. This exposes a larger issue. So, thanks, Mr. Slime Bucket company. Grrrr.- Caller: Collector from Dearborn, MI he claimed.
- Call type: Debt collector
