these people with heavy foreign accents claim to be the IRS stating that I owe money from 2008-2011 & have to pay it TODAY or i will be in 'big trouble'. i inquire about the amount they claim i owe & he says $770 which i must pay right away. i inform him that i just filed my taxes last week & surely the IRS would have garnished my return if i owed them money. he then hung up. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY! IT IS A SCAM!!

I just received a call from the same number. My tax return has been accepted and approved by the IRS and my money is to be deposited this week. Total scammers. Don't give them a dime.

Got an call with an automated voice saying that there is a red flag on my taxes and that i needed to call back with some document to address the red flag. My tax return last year was flagged because of identity theft so it did sound authentic for a moment. However, I haven't filed my taxes yet so there would not be a red flag on it for this year. Moreover, I never recevied this alledged document the caller referred. Annoying.

they called me to and I cussed them out bad.im a taxes prep. I no IRS agents have a id number that's given at the beginning of every conversation. He said he with  the IRS  give me 700 or we are coming to arrest u. I called him everything but the child of god.They are really crazy. i told him your speech isn't clear enough to work for the IRS. Not racism just common sense. You cant give good coustomer service if America cant understand you. I irs sends letters they don't call. or they send someone to talk with you. if your case is serious.

I got a call from this number while I was at the tax place today. I didn't answer. I got a robot voicemail. I wish I would have answered now & let my tax rep take the call. Freaking scammers!

I just got a voicemail from this number claiming a problem with my taxes and that I need to call back asap to take care of it before the irs puts a lien on me. Crazy!

This company just called me claiming I owed $1300 for a mistake on my taxes from 2008-2012. I asked to talk to someone else and they hung up on me. I was shaken but found out it was a scam thanks to my sister.

I also got a call from the same number (301) 223-3009.  also a robotic voice message claiming to be IRS, and claiming that there is a lein against my taxes.   The number that came thru said from MD, USA

Dude called me this afternoon from this number. Doing his best Ghandi impersonation, he proceeded to inform me I owed $1300 in back taxes. Your local BBB knows all about this nationwide scam happening right now. You can report this band of thieves to the I.R.S. at:  1-800-366-4484

This is the second call in two months we received from the supposed IRS. The first one we were scared, we didn't know, but soon called law enforcement and found out the IRS does not call, they will come to you. The first one was from a different number. We also googled the number and it was marked scam. I checked the BBB website and that outlines things.

As soon as I heard this message on my machine, I googled this number and sure enough it was a scam. Watch out! So glad we didn't give them any money.

I was contacted today 02/05/15 by 3012233009 stating I owe $1200 for back payment from 2008-2012. When I asked for his id number with the IRS he gave me #94292 and the name James Carter. When I said I was calling theirs and ask them about this and why didn't they send me a letter in reference to what I owe. The person hung up. I then called him back from another number and told him I was calling the police, the man on the phone said "to go ahead and [***] you". Wow.. Don't be fooled by this scam.

I was contacted today 02/06/15 by 3012233009 asking to pay 3000 in back taxes..I hang up the phone and call the number and some one answer stating it was the IRS criminal division. they began asking for personal info and when I refuse to provide they hang up the call.

these people are scam artist they leave a recording settings stating their IRS IRS doesn't call you directly like that they will use mailing to do their business irs never calls so do not believe them its a scam

I got the same call saying I owe the IRS. I let him that I worked for the IRS and I don't owe them any thing. The man went so far to tell me to shut up. I told him i was recording all there phones and they will be turned over to the FBI so he said f you and hung up. I want be getting any more calls from them.

Automatic msg indicating that there is an IRS Lean on my name, and to call back to the number listed. It is a SCAM!.

I just got the same voice mail from them. (I owe taxes that I am currently having deducted from my paycheck). I tried calling them back and I could not get through to them, the call just disconnected when it rang. They will not get no money from me.

I too got a call from Maryland  i called back it was foreign  man  said  he was eric  accent was obnoxious  i asked  himwhere are you located he says penn i than say ok so how i just callef you at a md number hehung up

I received a call  from this number today and answered. A robotic message was played stating that my account had been flagged because of fraud. I returned the call because there was fraud on my account in the past. When they didn't answer I relied on the Google search and found this web-site. Thank you so much for all the posts. I was easily able to write this off.
