I missed a call from 301-842-7252 from with caller ID displaying: Clear Spring, MD on my home phone @ 4:30 PM without leaving a voice mail/message.  After conducting an exhaustive search with reverse engineering on this phone number and other websites, I learned it’s a tape recorded call from Betty of Carpet Cleaning in Clear Spring, MD. This is a new cell phone number assigned to me two days ago, so it is amazing that I am getting robocalls already. By responding to phone messages to request to be removed from their call list will only generate further unwanted robocalls.  Best practice is to avoidance or report these annoying robocalls and/or avoid taking phone calls that you do not recognize, especially those calls that hang-up before going to voice-mail or fail to leave a voice message.

Suggest you contact the Better Business Bureau that Consumers reported automated phone calls.  This particular caller ID number registers as a land-line from Aspen Hill, Bethesda, Bowie, and Clear Spring, MD, but may originate from a variety of different phone numbers.  Consumers need to be aware that ‘web surfing’ on the internet to advertised special offerings, or $100 gift card to products/services will generate a “Call List” that can be bought or sold to Third Party or unnamed businesses. BBB warns consumers to use extreme caution and refrain from providing personal information including debit or credit card information to unknown or unverifiable parties. Recommend you register your phone number with the FCC “Do Not Call” registry.  Continue to file your complaints with the FCC, Justice Dept., and/or Phone Service Providers of these Robocalls start prosecuting for violating the FCC Do Not Call registry.

Thanks for the info above.  I have received calls from Betty before. It's a pre-recorded message with what sounds like an older woman. I hang up right away but find these calls extremely annoying. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and it doesn't matter, obviously.

My cell phone is registered on the DNC list and I've received multiple calls from 301-842-7252 which is generated from a 'Google caller'. There is no one  on the other end of the line and no messages left. From what I have read this is a place called Betty's Carpet Cleaning in Clear Spring, MD

They are calling  several days a week like crazy, one is during a meeting, it's [***] business. I would not want to do any business with these people.

I too keep getting unwanted robocalls from this carpet cleaner on my cell phone, even after asking to be out on do not call list. Very annoying

I'm getting those obnoxious calls from "Betty" and my cell # has been on the do not call register also which is apparently useless.  In fact I'm convinced that someone in the FCC or BBB is selling the do not call #s to mass marketers.  If anyone finds "Betty" let me know and I'll gladly make a suppository of her tongue !

They started calling my house phone. Now they call my cell my moms cell my sisters cell and my dads cell. This is getting so obnoxious I swear.

I have received 4 ro ocalls on my cwll phone from this # even rhough the phone is regestered on the do not call list. I've pushed 9 ti be taken off their list, but they continue to harrass me.

again bad caller #108 called my cell phone which i have not given out. i dont answer numbers i dont know. left no message. ... i have read it is from a carpet cleaner. i have wood floors, no carpets. !!! and besides, all work is done through my landlord and their contractors !!!

Yep, another call from Betty. I told her that if she called again I'd file a report with the FCC.

Violatating the do not call registry. I am going to file a complaint with them as well.  They just keep calling and never leave a message.  Ignoring doesn't work so file complaints everywhere you can!
