call for someone who doesn't and never has lived at my address.  they call every day with a automated message

For the past month I've been receiving at least eight calls daily from number 301-882-9976, Maryland.  The times when I answered no one responded, it was just silence on the other end.

This phone number is from a collection agency that Bank of America uses their name is Wolpoff & Abramson, they are idiots you call them back and leave messages they never call you back then two weeks later they start harrassing you that you have been ignoring their calls.

I received a call from this same number while I was out.  My caller ID stated a name:  Mann Bracken       If its from BAC, I don't even do business with them.  No message left.

I keep getting calls 2-3 times per day - morning and evening from 301 882 9976.

They leave messages on my answering machine asking for a woman I have never heard of.  When you do pick up on a call - someone hangs up on other end.

This is phone harrassment - who do I call to stop this????

I just received a call from Mann Bracken, didn't bother answering phone, didn't leave a message, and I don't own any money to any bank / CC company

They call asking for a person that has never worked for the company. If you answer they tell you who they are and that they will remove the number but they keep calling.

I've had my phone # for a couple of years and I have NO debts, plus no one is ever there when I answer the phone. It says Mann Bracken. I'm dialed every day. I want it to STOP!

has called numerous time this a law firm. i gave them the # of the correct person and they still called me back.

Keep calling with no messages all times of day and night.  When I called the Maryland number back they say it was for someone that doesn't even live in my home.  I spoke to a receptionist this morning and they said they will remove my number from their call list.

They kept calling me day and night. I called them back and there was an nasty representative. I asked them to take my phone out of their system. I hope they'll do it.

Keeps calling, asks for different names, if anyone is there other than the silence or the music... we have asked that they stop calling. They start up again.  Mann Bracken is listed as their name but after we block one number they call from a different one. Simple harassment.  The numbers they use are  ending in -9975, -9976 and -9977.

This is a collection agency.  Put a stop to them cold, download a phone zapper program, called : CaLL ZAP 2.0.( just type in search ) Stops collections agency's and unwanted callers!

These people call daily and never say anything and when I try to call back there is a recording saying that the number has been disconnected.

Sound like a scamper. This person needs to stop and get a real job.

Whenever you pick up and no one responds that is an abonded call. It is illegal and they can be fined. Please use the form, if enough of us file they will be shut down and fined. If yoy owe them money you can not use the form.......

Couldn't find anything called Zap 2.0 except a game. Any other information?  
My daughter started receiving calls re: 10-year old "cancelled" debt. She made the mistake of answering the call. She informed them that the statue of limitations had run out which stopped the calls. However, shortly thereafter she was notified that they had turned in a 1099C to the IRS for the original amount + interest for 10-years! She received a copy of the 1099C in the mail.
The principal and interest was lumped into one amount which I was told was illegal + she never received any requested accounting of the debt. In respect to the IRS I advised her to do nothing and let them contact you should they have actually received the 1099C. The reason they turn in the 1099C with inflated $$$$ is so they can call it a loss and recover more than they paid for the debt.     Bottom line - Get caller ID + call blocking capabilities so you can filter out those 301, 249 and 800 area code calls. If you should accidentally pick the phone up and then notice it's from a questionable number by all means don't tell them who you are. I realize that by the time you read this post they probably already know who you are but DO NOT go further by trying to negotiate or find out information about the debt. RE: Debt in general - The statue of limitations only applies if you do not have ANY communications within the prescribed period of time. If you do, the statue of limitations starts over. Each state is different so search for SOL for your state. I'm not an expert - just things I found out while trying to help my daughter.
While searching for the zapper I noticed a number of software programs for your computer to manage calls - some free. This may provide better control over calls like blocking ALL 360 area code numbers, etc.

I took the advice of other posters on this site, and also filed an electronic complaint.  
I also have excellent credit, and have no idea why they keep calling me.  I tried to talk to them, but I get someone who sounds like they are straight out of the hood, and they promise to remove my phone number...but that seems to be too much work for them and the calls continue.   I just blocked them with my cell phone provider.....and wish I knew a more reasonable way to resolve this dilemma...but they seem shady.
