Delaware.

Why would Sallie Mae be calling me?  I gradutated 27 years ago.  Hope they didn't pay too much for that list.

Must be a telemarketer using the same line for different clients because the call I got on 4/11/12 from this caller ID was a robocall pitching a security alarm system.

called the number back and spoke to mike at sallie mae, he said they just started to get calls within the last hour from people who got this call....he said if you answer the call its some kind of alarm company but if you call back, its their number....but it is definitely a 3rd party and not sallie mae trying to get in touch with you

Received a call 4/24/12 @ 11:09 am. Missed the call and no voice message was left.  

Seems odd that it would be an "alarm" company. I will take others word for it.

Interestingly enough, my son just decided what college he is attending over the w/e. We submitted paperwork and payment electronically to the college. I hope that this "alarm" company didn't hack into URI's database.  That would be a HUGE problem.

Recevied a call today, 4/24/12 at 11:09am (interestingly enough, same exact date and time as Victoria!).  I, too, missed the call and no voice mail was left.  

I just started graduate school and do have a loan that I just took out but it's not with Sallie Mae.  I received paperwork on Friday indicating that my loan is now handled by Great Lakes (I believe... recalling from memory since I'm still at work right now).  So why would Sallie Mae be calling me?  If this is a third party and they got a database, I'm going to be VERY unhappy....

Called them back (4-24-12) and was told there was a problem with their :"system" which was calling non-customers. I've never had a loan with them.

Just received a call from this number on my company cell phone that I've had for years..  Didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer it.  They didn't leave a message, so I "googled" the number and came up with this board (among others).

Some of the other boards have some pretty bad stories of harassment from Sallie Mae, so I hope this just turns out to be a one-time thing.  I guess we'll see.

There seems to be more and more of this kind of garbage.  The "Do Not Call" list is useless.  Too bad there is not a lot you can really do.  I occasionally save a few of these repeat offender numbers and give them out or enter them in as "my" phone number just for fun when asked for my phone number when I don't think I should be.  Let them prey on each other!

i am on the do not call registry and want to stop receiving calls from this number immediately.
