I just started getting calls from that number today.. does not leave a message..

The number belongs to Sallie Mae 302-283-4082, showa up on caller ID as Newark, DE

Started getting calls yesterday, pick up phone and no one answers dead silence on other en, when do not pick up phone they leave no message.  caller ID  as Newark, DE

This is 'clever attempt' #5 (no kidding) from Sallie Mae or one of their toads to call and pester us.  We already talked to them about the loan, paying every month, but not what THEY want us to pay- which is hard if you're making minimum wage.  They'll call 7-8 times a day.

If so, you're not alone! I am too.  I didn't anticipate not passing the bar 5x so I am making way less than enough to afford San Francisco's cost of living and student loans!

It is definitely Sallie Mae. Every day, they call my landline and my cell phone, usually leaving no message but occasionally leaving one.  We have spoken to them and one rep actually told me that unless they get an actual payment or a post-dated payment, as opposed to a promise of payment [of which I do not approve], "the calls will continue."  In other words, even if you promise to pay by say, next Monday, they will continue to call until they receive that payment on Monday.  Simple, endless harrassment.

I meant that I do not approve of post-payments, not promise of payment.

Geesh. Its not like I DON'T WANT TO PAY.  Its just I CANNOT afford to pay their astronomical "minimum payment" Even my credit cards are more forgiving!

I think you'll find that by law if you've talked to an agency like Sallie Mae, have explained what your situation is and are making payments they cannot legally call you again for 14 days. If they continue to call it can be considered harassment and is illegal.

I do not have a Sallie Mae loan - never have.  The robot on the other end says "This is a call for Terry [my last name].  If you are not Terry [my last name] then press 1."  Well if it's leaving a message than no one can press 1!  Duh!  I've got it blocked but they call on different numbers.
BTW - I have no relatives names Terry.

Sallie Mae is absolutely the worst company in this world to deal with. I co-signed a loan for a grandson and he is still in school, however they continue to harass and try to demand payments. They might as well stop because I will not pay them.

I have no loan with them and never heard of them.  I am getting robo calls stating I have a message, do not hang up.  Then the voice comes back telling to wait for the next available operator.
