Odd text to my phone. I tried to text back and then called from a blocked phone and got a very odd recording. This is some type of forwarded number.

I had same call and same experience

Received a very odd looking  text message from this number re the sender's father wanting to rent my summer home. Had a link to an email but I'm not going to respond.

Exact same thing happened to me as happened to Paul.

Same thing.. Wanted me to email his father about my summer home rental. Must have come from VRBO site?

VRBO is what I use.  I've sent them a report about it.

Received the same type of text message. Must be some type of fraud. Wanted to rent vacation home for father but did not use the e mail message center available to use. Won't call on the phone,doesn't want to get involved with the "Federal DO NOT CALL ' law. Looking at the other complaints , this is no legit.

Had exact same message on text.  Did send an email reply asking for more info from them.

I also got the same text message. I also think they got my contract info from VRBO.

Great to know it was bogus. I had same text "my father wants to rent your place...."

I got this also.  Off vrbo.com. Alan someone called me from 415-590-9901 and wanted to rent my house ASAP.  His story sounded a bit funny.  Not sure if this is connected.

Whoever it is  must be getting contact phone numbers from VRBO.  Problem is:  if you respond to the email they have your phone number and your email address.  You can do some damage if you have both of those.

Same thing happened to me. Glad I didn't respond, thought it sounded a little weird.
