I've ben getting calls consistently at about 7:45.  10-11-07 I called back and asked them to remove my name, only got a rcording.  I'll try during the day on 10-12-07

I live in Wa state, my situation started when I cancelled my subscription to the local newspaper in Tacoma.  Seems they use Metro News Service, which has a web site.  I called the paper and asked them if they used this service and they said yes, mystery solved on how they got my number.  I had to have the local paper put me on there don not call list and then I called Metro News Service Metro News Service, Inc.

I do not know who this is they kept calling me

I have been receiving calls from this # for the past two weeks, two rings and then they hang up, no messages were left.

This Metro News Service phone # 303-302-7929 keeps calling sometimes three or four times a day and when you answer, it hangs up. This is getting annoying

Scam do not answer it!!!

Called 2 times today. Goes to answering machine and when beeps the caller hangs up. Caller ID Reads: METRO NEWS SERV

I'm on the National Do Not Call List and they still call??

If it's my local newspaper, I've had trouble whit their telemarketers before.

I didn't listen to what they had to say, but stated I was on the Do Not Call List.

I have been getting calls from Metro News .... 4 times a day for weeks. No message left. I answered twice and the caller stated, "This is a test" followed by numbers.  I reported this to the National Do Not Call list last week and still they are calling.  I know this is a land line phone but it is unlisted so how do I solve this mystery?

HEre we GO. 303-302-7929. Metro News Service. No answer when you pick up. Call them, no answer, maybe you can leave a message. Jerks. 4-5 calls a day, from 7 am through 959pm. Monday through Sunday. Autodialers suck, they never answer. Even when you dont pick up your on phone,  they continue to call now going on for a month. I'm in Colorado Springs. I'm guessing it's affiliated with The Gazette. Even bigger [***]. They published my wages. I WILL NEVER BUY YOUR PAPER, stop sending kids to my door, calls to my unlisted landline which is on the do not call list, and oh yeah reported to the BBB (metro news service isn't even a member, big surprise) but I will also guess the gazette hired them, so I will report to the attorney generals office as well. Tired of this. Real tired. As a Nurse, working nights, I need sleep, not phone calls or a sleazy paper that hires crappy companies like this to do their sales. Fight Back. Don't purchase the Gazette, let them know how you feel about their sales tactics, report this lame company to the BBB and attorney general via internet - its easy

Yea Snyder, I live in Colorado to, and I just answered the phone and heard what I thought was a live voice, maybe I think now it was a recording but it was the same thing you discribed. They better not publish anything about me. Thanks for your advice maybe I'll do the same.

I live in Pittsburgh and have been getting calls from this number for a couple of weeks now.  It's amazing to me that being on the Do Not Call list doesn't prevent this.  I thought that was the whole point of the DNC list?  Aggravating!

Pittsburgh also and have been getting the call about once a day for the last week... No one there when I pick up obviously.

Just had the second call from this number in the past hour. It hangs up after the answering machine picks up, leaves no message.

Cox Communications Services - I recently disconnected about a month back with Cox phone service. They are calling to inquire why I discontinued their service. I bought this Magic Jack Plus and works just as good as their phone service and is connected through the same computer service with savings from $300 to $500 a year. They asked if they could connect me with their cable tv service and even offered a discount price, but I have been without cable tv or satellite for over 10 years. I use the old outdoor antenna and I am satisfied with the amount of channels I can catch with it. I am probably saving from $25 to $100 a month by using the outdoor antenna. So if you disconnect from their services for any reason you can expect to receive phone calls from them twice a day everyday until you pick up the phone and just say no thank you. They believe you need their phone and tv services even though you tell them you can not afford it.

Got two calls from this number today to my cell phone. Didn't reach the phone in time, both times. After first call at 9:34am I sent text message asking if i could help whomever was calling, but didn't get a response. Now at 2:08pm got another call. Caller ID just has the phone number on it.  Not sure whom it could be. We moved from Norther VA to Houston in November, but kept our home (Vonage) and cell phone numbers from VA, so we still have the 703- area codes.
