Just calls and hangs up when we let the machine answer

Calls my wife's parents house and asks for me, and when they say "Can I ask who's calling?" they just hang up.. The calls come 5-10 times a day.

1-303-422-1887 has called me on Nov. 12-07 and Nov. 14-07 but I did not answer
the call. If I was not mistaken the caller left message: John, John, John on
Nov. 12-07

This call is very annoying, because it did not leave a message on my answering
machine.

Guy calls and hangs up after his computer asks my machine to wait for him to get to me, then message is Ken, Ken,,,click.

My follow up reveals that this is most likely coming from a low tech magazine sales company called Rocky Mountain Reader something

They call 8-9 times a day. I never answer them

A google search of this number lists them as International Magazine Service, educmacation.com. There are several additional magazine/advertising/telemarketing companies listed on google that use this same number. They are calling 5-6 times a day, sometimes more. Yesterday, for the first time, I answered and talked to a female representative. I was not pleasant and told her to STOP CALLING! She replied, "DO NOT YELL AT ME!" and hung up. Like Kenny T's report, they have called numerous times, spoken my husband's name several times to the answering machine, then hung up.

There has to be some place to lodge a formal complaint against these people. Enough is enough!

These people called twice today and several times yesterday.  Tonight she started to leave a message.  I guess she did not know my machine had the call and there was loud noise in the back ground, and she was talking to someone and said, "she abuses everyone equally" then she hello, Frank...Lori and then hung up.  Two things are weird. 1.  My husband is Frank and 2. Telemarketers only know me by my given name, not nickname Lori.  I guess they wait until I answer next time they call.

These stupid idiots call all the time. I never answer but last time I answered and told them "DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN!". The next day they called. I believe there should be a total opt-out for your phone so that you would never get a sales pitch or beg for donation or survey or any type of other intrusive unwanted call. I have been on the do not call list since 2003 and update it regularly and still these lowlifes call. GRRRRRRR!

I have received calls from this number -- Rocky Mountain Readers as well as from Interstate Readers League of Atlanta and now a new one 866-571-0054.  Interstae was the first and I fell for the offer to "try vaious magazines" and pay the shipping charges. Said OK. Gave credit card. Was charged $43/month to be for 20 months which $860 for five year subscriptions.  No contract just recording sales pitch.  Started receiving wide variety of useless magazines which had expirations dates usually in 2008 not 2013.  Called and asked for a copy of the contract.  "Not available"  Asked How do I know the magazines will extend for 5 years when the payment will be completed in 20 months.  After suggesting that I was notifying the US Advertising Council because of the apparent scam of inflacting subscription numbers during the period that the advertising rates are set for each magazine. (Rates are based on subscriptions) The person on the line quickly suggested that I just send a letter cancelling the contract.  I had already blocked the deal by cancelling the credit card draft.  Assume Rocky is similar to the Interstate Readers League of Atlanta.   BEWARE
   Since this interstate commerce, a threat to report their abuse to the FCC of the Federal Trade Commission will usually shut them up.

How do companies get away with this??? I can't even get them to say a word, just hangs up!!! Maybe i'll put a hex on them or something...

I'm on the national "Do Not Call" list, so I'm going to report them, but I doubt it will do much good.

If you get these calls please file a complaint with the do not call list.  If enough peiople do this, the FTC may step in.  If no one files a complaint, they will continue to call you.

I spoke to the caller from this number three days ago and he said was calling to talk to my husband about his subscription to Men's Health. I told him he doesn't want to subscribe anymore. That number has showed up on my cellphone's log four more times since then, the latest one today. They never leave a message.

these people call me 4-5 times a day. they call every night after i get home from work and they NEVER STOP CALLING! i find 3-4 missed calls from them everyday when i return home from work!!! SO ANNOYING!

I've gotten several calls from this number in the past couple of days - they never leave a message.  Today I answered one of their calls and it was a
telemarketer wanting to talk to me about my "Car and Driver" magazine subscription.  I told him I don't get that magazine.  He told me, "Maybe it's your husband's?"  I told him, "I don't HAVE a husband."  He apologized and hung up.  WEIRD!

I never answered but they call hourly from about 9am to 9pm

Called 3 times in 1 day - will not respond to call back

All I can say is thank goodness for caller ID. I never answer when I see that name on my ID and they never leave a message. We are also on the do not call list, so I wonder how we can get rid of these annoying calls?
