303-974-1819, Colorado Fraternal Order Of Police.  This may be a new number for them, since their old numbers are being blocked.  They pretend to be policemen, and pretend that police need contributions because police families are poor and needy.  There is an unspoken implication that if you don't contribute, you might not get police protection.  The legal minimum of donations, no more than 50%, goes to legitimate police organizations, the rest going into the pockets of solicitors.  They have been harassing Denver area citizens for many years, and barely staying within the law.  I wish something could be done about them, but no politicians want to seem "anti-police".

This guy actually asked for my credit card number.  Duh I don't give out my credit card to anybody.  I hope other people don't fall for this pitch.

We have had about 30 calls from the "Colorado FOP" at this number over the last few weeks.  We're in Colo. Springs.  I don't respond to them because I know they're a private call center that takes a big cut; very little of the money actually goes to the police union.  Then, from what I've researched, the majority of the funds goes to hiring attorneys to defend police in internal affairs matters; i.e. inappropriate behavior, etc.  I don't believe much money, if any, goes to law enforcement families suffering hardship.  From what I understand, it's only about 2 cents of every dollar.

This is a scam. They do not represent any police charitable group at all. They called me persistantly on a daily basis at all times of the day and night. The still call eventhough I told them not to call again and to take me off their calling list. They do not give a tax I.D. or receipt with any donation which is a clear indication that they are not legitimate.

All of these calls are originating from the phone number starting with the digits: 303-974-18**
The last two digits vary sometimes, but are indeed from the same scammer.

I called Colorado State Police and they confirmed that it is indeed a scam and they said not to give any information to them and tell them to not call again and to take them off their thier call list.  Also warn them that if they call again that you will report them to your local police division.

If you receive these calls I suggest you call your local police division as this is clearly an illegal operation and also hurting a reputable group in the process. The police needs to know that this is a rampant problem and hopefully action will be taken to shut down these fraudulant activities.
Also file a complaint to the Colorado Do Not Call list as they are not a real charitable organization.

They just called and asked for the woman in the house and when i said she wasnt home they said, "ok. there is no message. we will call back later." what is this?

i got a call from CO FOP when I wasnt home but i got their number so Look it up

Asked for my wife. Said she was not home. They hung up immediately. Obviously a scam.

They called my cell phone at 8:20 pm tonight.  Really? Looked it up and saw this info.  So sick and tired of them calling me.  Last time they were really rude to my husband.  They asked for the lady of the house and he asked who it was.  They go for the women as they think we will fall for their scam.  NOT!
