These idiots called our business again today.  The number was different from the last one that showed up on the caller ID but the scam is the same.  (Caller name showed up as "Bryan Russell."  Spoof.)  Man with an Indian accent claimed to be calling from some "online yellow pages" company and they had received a request from our company to cancel our ads.  This is all lies, of course.  He claimed he needed to give me a cancellation number, "Okay?"  Good try butt-wipe.  I said, "No."  He was, of course, expecting a yes, which they might have recorded and tried to insert in some bogus agreement.  When I repeated "no," he said, "Well, okay, if you want Mr. Martin to receive a $500 bill--"  I cut him off, telling him, "I know this is a scam.  F* off!" and hung up.  He called back immediately.  I picked up the phone and blew my emergency whistle into the receiver.  Will the idiot try a third time?  Still waiting.
No matter if you agree or not (and do NOT use the word 'yes' or any kind of agreement kind of word that can be taken out of context if recorded), these scam artists will try to bill you rectroactively for about $500 for alleged online yellow page ads your company did not have and never asked to be cancelled.  Previous # the same scam artists called from was 325-718-4640.  Of course, these are not real #s in that, even if they were valid, still lack the preceding numbers for an overseas call.

Same thing in our office. Two calls between 4:30 and 5:00 PM yesterday. One call today.  He really upset my receptionist yesterday. I saw the name "Bryan Russell" on the caller ID today and grabbed the call. The guy asked to speak with (me) about an overdue YP bill.  When I said he was speaking to the owner of the company, he just hung up.  I really think the scam is about bullying office personnel into paying a fabricated debt.
A call back to the caller ID number was answered by a recorded answering service. A reverse lookup of the caller ID number, 305-434-7047, indicated that it is a Virtual Office created by Offix Solutions in Miami.  http://www.offixsolutions.com

The butt-wipe actually had the gall to call our office a third time in less than a half-hour.  This time the boss answered after I had already warned him of this scam.  The two apparently got into a swearing match, with the scam artist now threatening to send a $1,200 bill.  Gee, in less than an hour, the fake bill went from $500 to $1,200.  Not THAT'S inflation.  I'm guessing that he jacked up the number in order to try to scare someone into agreeing to something.  But seriously, what is the point of persisting when someone already knows it's a scam?  Does the guy not know he's working for a scam?  Is he hoping he dialed a large company where the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing?  I'd love it if they sent a bill for services we never asked for, never received, and never asked to cancel.  We can always use more emergeny toilet paper.

A man with an Indian accent identified himself as "Shawn" calling from the cancelation dept. of "Online Yellow Pages" called several times over a 15 minute span stating that he had writen proof from the owner of cancelation and they will be billing us $1500.00.  I asked for his phone number (even though it clearly showed on caller id), but he refused to give it.  I just hung up on him.

Caller ID showed the call came from Bryan Russell. The joker with the Indian accent said his name was Frank. He said he was giving me a chance to cancel a Yellow Page contract that we (did not) signed two years ago and asked if I want the cancelation number. I said I do not want the yellow pages and to cancel . He tried every which way to get me to say yes. Finally he threatened me with a bill for $1200 and hung up on me.

They called here in the am claiming the same thing it was the same guy with his indian accent claiming my boss had instructed them to give me a cancellation number for the yellow pages because he no longer wanted to be subsribed as it went up to 1,200 dollars. I wanted to give the call to my boss he then said again he was instructed to tell me what to do and not to ask many questions. They had the mailing adress and they wanted me to aprove a final bill and it would be mailed to us and a copy to our boss. Good thing I didnt fall for this scam. When they transfered the call to get that cancellation number i hung up. It is definetly a scam it should be reported right away!

Same scam here. Call from Bryan Russell 305-434-7047.  Only difference it was "Tracy" calling from the other side of the world.  Tried to get authorization to cancel some yellow pages contract we never had and I said yeah, I wanna cancel (cause the yellow pages don't bring us business anyway).  She then said if I canceled I would get a bill for some $1200 for two years worth of whatever.  I then said, "fine, send me the bill and I won't pay it.  You can sue me and I won't pay it."  Then gave her a loud earful about if I'm going to make a decision today, it would be in writing.  Told her email works real well and instantaneous, and that she should email the details.  She didn't want to, but closed with a statement about getting a bill for $1200. We'll see.

Just got the same call, from an indian sounding male.  Said his name was Edward Miller, Senior Station Manager #5076 and that he was calling to give us a cancellation number for our online advertising with yellow pages. (Ironically, I am in the process of cancelling our YP telephone ads and is why I considered the call!) He told me I would receive a bill for $592 along with cancellation agreement.  When he transferred me, I spoke to an american sounding female, I asked her to identify the yellow page account she was trying to give me a confirmation number for.  She said she didn't have that info and had to transfer me, I got disconnected.  The Indian man called back again, I asked him to confirm the account number, he didn't listen to me, he said if I did not accept the confirmation number that we would be getting a bill for $1000 tomorrow.  He kept talking, so I talked over him letting him know that I knew he was a scammer and told him to take us off his speed dial!  Losers should use their energy and creativity for "real" work!
