Caller ID said "Rock Island IL"  - I answered call and a live person asked to speak to me (she said my first name).  I replied saying this is me.  She then immediately connected me to a pre-recorded message that asked me for money.  I have reported this company to the Do Not Call service department of the US Government.

this number has called a few times.

We are on the DO NOT CALL list and I expect that this company is violating that law.

I find it rather cruel for people to be calling 9pm, and they were going to ask for money for me? From someone still trying to survive breast cancer? Struggling to pay bills. I have been on the Do NHowt Call list 10 years.   These people don't give a damn.   Ask me for money?!  How DARE you!  Caller ID showed up on everyone's TV.  Now my family is upset thinking I didn't tell them something. Thanks a lot you idiots  ruined our weekend. Shame on you.

Three days ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. Today, I've got a call with CID of "Breast Cancer S...". I did not answer the call, and no message was left.

Online checks on this number lead also to Assoc. Community Services, which is a scam (see https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-309-623-4977, https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/3096234977 etc. complaints).

It seems that my nice diagnosis' data was resold by my hospital immediately, furiously and automagically (sic!), despite all fuss about HIPAA. I'll probably try to make my own fuss there. And, to to add insult to injury, my number is in a federal No-Call registry.

I'm sorry they called you.  I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the call came soon after your diagnosis.  I received a call today and haven't been to a physician in years.

I received the first call on Sept. 3rd at 1:24 p.m. from first one person and then was connected to another named Amanda asking for a donation to the Breast Cancer Assn.  They sent me a form and I sent them a small donation with a personal check, but thought it was strange they asked for my debit card # which I refused to give.  They have called me at least 2 times a day anywhere from 9:53 a.m.to 8:54 p.m. since then but have left no message.  I don't answer when the name shows on my caller i.d.  I have since put a stop payment on the check.

I put people like this on my phone's call block.

Received a call from (309) 623-4977 of Breast Cancer Society, Rock Island just a few minutes ago (8:58 P.M. CT on November 20, 2013). I didn't answer….and at this time of night...how rude.  I have nothing against breast cancer research, but come on! There's got to be a nobler, less intrusive way to fund this cause than via telemarketing.  
I received call July 6, 2013 – Wanted a contribution and "encouraged" me to use a credit card.  I would not do this and they said they would send me a notice through the mail so I could contribute.  Nothing ever came in the mail.  It is a FRAUD.
I have received multiple calls from “Breast Cancer Society” and "Children's Cancer" in the past.  I   requested that my number be removed from their calling lists and they continue to call. I have reported the numbers to FCC & donotcall.gov, which does no good.
BREAST CANCER SOCIETY raises funds (it is not a charity) If you ask their 501 (c) (3) number they will hang up on you! – Assoc. Community Services. 3971 Hoover Rd Grove City, Ohio is a UPS Mail Drop.

I hope this company ROTS IN HELL! As far as the DO NOT CALL LIST its a joke....................were on it also.

scammers! "charitable organizations" are not exempt from the do not call list. if EVERY!!!!! person who looks these #'s up would quit being so lazy-[***] and actually file a complaint we could end or at least cut down on this garbage!

I have received many calls day and night from Breast Cancer Society so called as it reads out on my caller ID according to evryone else on this site they have same problems getting our name off their database I have a feeling  if you donate to them it will never make it to the Breast cancer  society especilly when they want  you to use your credit or debit card. I am contacting Attorney General of Illinois and the Better Business Bureau to try to put a stop to this annoying phone calling i donate lots to CANCER sOCIETY BUT THESE CALLERS EITHER GET A DIAL TONE OR AN EAR FULL FROM ME!!

keep getting calls from this number, how do you report someone whenon the Do Not Cal list?

The Caller ID states "Breast Cancer S"
They have called our business several times each week for the past 3 weeks.
We have never answered.

Two days in a row someone from this number has called. Didn't answer the first time, had to answer the second time just to quiet the phone because we are trying to conduct legitimate business.
We too are on the "do not call" list and should not be getting phone calls from these people. They are not collecting for Breast Cancer, they are scammers!!

Calls non stop by a robo phone call

For seven straight evenings we have been getting calls from this number: 309-623-4977.  It shows up Breast Cancer on our I.D. as well.  When we answer the call, they ask for someone and then they disconnect.  They just called our house tonight at 8:50 pm.  They called last night around the same time; and the night before that they called around 7:50 pm.  Bunch of crap if you ask me. We are on the "so-called" no call list as well.
