Wanted money "Upfront" to set up my satellite dish from Directv ... I knew it was a scam, because I have gotten calls from same area code before same "ACCENT" same lame excuse & as soon as you start to get upset they get mad & pushy... I had the upper hand because this set up was for my Dad and I knew I didn't have to pay any money upfront because I just got Directv in Feb., when I told him I was going to call Directv and cancel everything he hung up LOL ... What pissed me off is today the jacka@@ called back and said he was from the cable company, and wanted money because he was going to come & upgrade something, I'm not sure I couldn't understand everything he was saying, I told him "I don't have cable" which I don't, he argued with me. My Dad has TWC, I'm changing him over to Directv, but this guy didn't know that and he forgot he called me last night... When I told him I have Directv he yelled at me "No you don't You have no credit, you can't get Directv" ... I had to pay upfront so Dad could get Directv because he has no credit, not sure how this jerk knew this but he did, when he told me that I laughed at him... He knew messed up and hung up... I called Directv they told me its not coming from them... Hmmmm funny this guy knew part of the conversation...

All of the Cable and Satellite  Company's are targets .....

The dumb [***] call then hang up when the answering machine picks up. They are to stupid to talk and when you call the number it will ring about 5 times then busy signal. I'm on the do not call list and the government as always is remiss in enforcing anything  harms or invades the privacy of  the consumer.

I just had comcast installed and next night an Asain sounding man bad (imitation) speaking high pitched called supposedly from U.S Cable Services did I still want cable. It sounded like he was calling from a bar! Lots of yelling people having fun. I told him "dude you sound like your in a bar! He apologized claiming it was telemarketing noise, no way I heard music like a party! I played music loud in his ear. He hung up called back and made noises like he was masturbating we laughed at him and asked what he did with the missing Malaysia plane and eventually he said thanks for your time and hung up. He called back twice more but we did not pick up.

It's weird because when you look up this phone number, people like me will say it's Comcast, or they'll say it's TWC, or Direct TV. In my case, we spoke with Direct TV yesterday because we are interested in doing a switch from TWC and are considering Direct TV. We didn't sign up with them, we just got info. This morning, when I got this phone call from 310-201-4562, I didn't recognize it, didn't answer, they didn't leave a message, so I googled the number and see message boards basically all stating the same thing--the only difference is that we all think it is coming from a few different sources. It's as if these people have tapped into the phone boards from these different cable companies, grabbed our phone numbers, and are calling you and I to try to divert funds to them, instead of the cable companies. Just a guess, but why else would it happen after I speak with Direct and you speak with Comcast?

Cancelled Comcast in one state yesterday (moving to new state) and set up new service with Time Warner right after that for the new house.  Got a call from this # 310-201-4562 24 hours later.  Bizarre.  Didn't answer.  Not calling back due to latest scam warning by FCC.

Called multiple times in a row and then quit. Did this more than once. Didn't leave any message. I checked online and found this page. This is weird, because I just spoke with Comcast yesterday about my account. How do they get the numbers of people dealing with Comcast or DirectTV? Sounds like someone has hacked multiple servers.

You're completely right.  I called TWC yesterday adding TV service to our internet and phone package for my parents place.. (Called from work) [***] calls me at work stating that he has a good TV service deal for me. Told him he's calling a business and then he hangs up.  Filipino accent.  Funny thing is, i think TWC outsources their sales to the philipines, because the lady i spoke with at TWC was also filipino... and everyone in the background i heard was also filipino.. i can hear them speak tagalog.  maybe this outsource company is selling numbers that call TWC for service................

Why is this number calling my phone ?? I am reporting it !  It seems to be related to cable companies, Please do something about this 'harassing' number !

Caller said he was from "Discount Cable Service" and had a funny accent. (Not funny hahaha, funny peculiar). It's the first time I've picked up; other times no messages were left. I told him I'm on the do not call list, that I was going to turn him in,  and that today's Memorial Day when we're supposed to honor our soldiers, not harass people with unwanted offers, but he was long gone before I made my point.

I called my cable company in the last few days as have many of the posters here. I wonder if there's someone on the inside selling our numbers, particularly if we call to complain about our service. We're probably ripe for the picking.
