    Four calls today, but I don't answer unknown number calls so I don't know who they're from. I'm getting tons of odd calls this week, and the National Do Not Call Registry fell victim to the government shutdown about the time the calls got more frequent.  Coincidence?

    1) Asking the number to stop calling on this page is not going to be effective. As rant, you will feel better.
    2) Best to ask for their direct number.
    3) Ask for their supervisor
    4) If it's legal in your state, record the conversation.
    5) Ask the reason for their call.
    7) Say that you are not interested.
    8) Ask them to take you out of the database ASAP.
