Number called me twice in two hours, answered, nobody was there but there was a beeping sound every once in a while. Looked up the number and I think it's from an escort service. I'm not going to bother answering next time.

Received 3 calls from this number in the past 2 days, I answered the 3rd one but there was no response.
Also, called it and there is a recording saying that it is for some research?? It is pretty upsetting when this happens!!

Same here, I get 3 or 4 calls a day recently from this number.  I answer, no sound then disconnects withing a second or two.  I downloaded a blackberry program just to block this number.  Apparently it's a landline out of Torrence.

This number called me FOUR times in less than an hour! It has called me EVERYDAY for the last week. I finally just put it on automatic regect on my phone.

I just got a call from this number. I used to live in this area, but don't know this number.

This number keeps calling my home and when I answer they don't respond.  I want them to stop calling my house!  When I call the number back I get a recording about some net research company BS with no prompts to talk to anyone or leave a message. I WANT THE CALLS TO STOP!!!!!!!

I am having the same problem. It started on the 21st of May, one call. 22nd of May, one call and two today so far, 23rd of may. I have answered 2 of them and no says anything. For what its worth, i signed up on Facebook last Thurs, the 20th and the calls started the next day. I have not tried to call it back, but if what you are all saying is true, it identifys itself as a business, maybe we should report it to the National do not call list. I have my number listed on  it.

Once at 9am Friday the 21st, Once again on Saturday the 22nd, and Three! Three so far this morning, 9am, 11am, and 12pm... So..

Its rather annoying.  I havent tried to answer it...

Like others I can't get anyone to answer when picking up the phone.  When calling them back you get a prerecorded message saying who they are and apologizing if the call is inconvenient, but NO METHOD FOR GETTING OFF THEIR CALL LIST.

I really think the US Govt needs to update the telemarketing laws to include non-profits and public opinion companies.

If anyone figures out who to get off thes tel-hell-bot call list please share!  This company wasn't listed on the wiki list of public research companies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Public_opinion_research_companies

My friend has a 310 area code so I was thinking it was her when I answered....nope, no one there. Its called me a couple of times now. Any way to complain to a phone company? Any ideas?

I received the call too this morning. I googled it and seems that it belongs to a prostitute that advertise her self "Sweet Maya".  She offers her services in Los Angeles and Orange County, here is the link

However, when I called there is an answering machine of a Network survey. Very weird, because this [***] started to advertise her services January 2010. She is in several Internet pages.

two calls today - one woke me up this morning. both times no one on the line.

it's a land line in Torrance California. I used *67 and called. got a message machine just like Riptide saying it is netservices research survey. If that's true why is there no one on the other line and why are they calling on a Sunday morning!

I've put this phone number on my blocked list.

The calls are from California Teachers Association concerning Tuesday's election for public supt & prop 14.  Phone numbers are randomly chosen by a computer and then connects you to someone from the association.  

Got two calls from them today...one with no one on the line and second one with California Teachers Association.

I've received 4 calls today alone.  I haven't picked up because I don't know the number.  Now, I definitely won't!  Has someone actually discovered where they're coming from.  Louise is saying it's an escort but niki said it's the CTA.  Any confirmations?

Got three calls from this number (310) 974-8986 this morning. All less than an hour apart. Third time I picked up, said hello, and they hung up.

I have the same thing to report as everyone else, but have a possible hunch. Is anyone a member of one of those survey groups that gives you points for taking their surveys, such as HarrisPoll?

My experience parallels those who posted the other comments. I have received a number of calls. When I pick up there is no answer, and when the answering machine picks up, they leave no message. I am in the 805 area code.

I'm in the 831 are code. My husband picked up the phone and stayed on the line longer than normal to see if anyone was there. It was the John Laird for Senate campaign.

This # has been calling me alllllllll day long. I refuse to answer an unknown #. When I call the #, the recording states the # is disconnected.
