Norc U Chicago calls every week.  There's millions of other people they can ocntact, but they are very persistent. They've called me about 15 times so far and tried to conduct a survey asking for my children's names and birthdate.  Sounds like they're phishing for information.

And they call on Sundays and odd evening hours. I don't know what they want as I never answer and they never leave message.

These people called to do a survey about childhood immunizations. The woman I spoke with had an Indian accent. It was for providing immunization research to the CDC. They didn't ask for home address or SS #; and I wouldn't have given it anyway.

I too am getting calls from them, but now that I read the comments here I realize I received a letter in advance from the Center for Disease Control [CDC] informing me that I was selected to be part of a survey on child immunizations.  The letter has a number for me to call if I want to be more selective about the time/day of providing the information.

This is legitimate as another poster says.

I should add even though this is a legitimate survey - or is it when they are asking for SS#?  How stupid are they?  We all know we should never give those out to anyone who calls us on the phone.

I get called from this people 2 or 3 times a week and they start with asking how many people live in my family. Tonight they called at 8:42PM. Boy am I tried of this.

This company called and I answered. She started off asking personal questions. Told her I was not going to answer. Next day, called again but I didn't answer. Sunday called again, didn't answer.

NORC U CHICAGO. This is a new one for us, and I thought we were the King and Queen of junk phone calls. Just phoned (5:58 PM). Did not pick up--They did not leave a message.

It is legitimate. My husand answered and they just asked if there were kids in the house and  their ages. Didn't ask anything personal. They said its just a survey and at the end said thanks for participation in a survey for H1N1 prevention.

They called me...I told them " I don't  know who you are,don't call me again "

This is important research, they send you a letter letting you know they are going to call and that you can select a better time of day for them to call if you want. The problem is that the calls are made through a calling program. if you dont know what a calling program is its a computer program that does the calling and when someone answers the phone then someone on the calling side picks up the phone to talk to you. Sometimes there is a silence on their end because it takes a second for them to get to the call. They cont leave messages because they already sent you a letter to let you know the number they are calling from and what they are all about. You people that are complaining are the same ones that would be yelling if there was a serious outbreak of a virus and most people knew what to do and what was happening because they answered the phone.

The Norc U Chicago is phishing for information.  They are attempting to gain information not only children but everyone.  They are calling under the guise of the CDC.  However, they are not part of the CDC, they are HHS and IRS.  This has to do with the Healthcare Law, they are attemping to gain information so as they can tax every household.  They are asking about the number of children because many children before age 3 do not have SS#s.  I would challenge everyone to review the healthcare law  H.R. 4872.  Do not answer the phone to them, Do Not call the back.  If you don't know the number don't answer the call.  Review the Constitution and get to know your rights as a citizen.  Tell others that you know not to answer strange calls. If they get an accurate number for a house hold they will take the amount of tax directly from your bank accounts.  I have been researching things like this for several years now and this is not a new tactic, however, they are going to push harder and attempt to collect as much from the people before the state lawsuits can delay it.  Please research and share what you find with others.

Persistent calls, annoying calling every day.

I have noticed NORC U Chicago on my Caller ID and mostly it was during the day.  Tonight I made the mistake of picking up (8:28pm) and someone started off saying his name and he was representing the CDC.  I hung up.  Whatever he was selling, I'm not interested.

After reading the comments here, I don't remember ever receiving a letter stating I was "selected" to participate.  I did go their website (www.norc.org) and they seem to be conducting quite a number of surveys.

Fine, it's a legitimate organization; however, I have an unpublished number and really do not want them to call (I'll be reporting them to the FCC).  So, I guess they will be hearing nothing but ring tones until they get sick of it.

Yes this is legit.. did not ask me anything that if I did not want to answer that I couldn't.

They are only looking for immunizations of children in the household, if you have no kids, answer the phone and tell them.  They stop calling.

May be "legit" but it is still intrusive and unsolicited.
