This same number was on my caller ID when I got home

Its a survey that offers you a "free cruise" if you answer their few questions... Its a scam. They want you to pay a small fee of "taxes" up front which turn out to be non refundable - read online a similar situation where one person lost $500... What it would cost you for a cruise...

They provided a website - www.2011celebration.com or something like that - My daughter responded out of curiosity and put me on the phone when a live person came on... I spoke with a woman named Shelda who was far from experienced, courteous or polite- quite rude actually... I thanked her for her time but said we would not be interested which she did not take very well- raised her voice accusing me of calling them (which we did not) and then hung up on me.

Received this call last night.  It had an automated message about doing a survey in exchange for a cruise (just as described in the message above).  However at the end of the message, there was an option to press 1 to speak to a representative, or press 9 to be removed from the calling list.

This number keeps calling my home number as well as my cell number at all hours of the night. They always hang up but, this is very distrupting as my spouse works swing shift at his work place.

Received a call from this number. Answered and they hung up.

Got a call from this number at 3:05pm on August 26th.  I did not answer and no message was left.

They kept calling me. Just press 9 to be removed from there list.

At 3:08 pm on August 29th, 2011, my cell phone rang and I answered it.  A prerecorded message came on as soon as I said, "Hello."  it claimed to not be a solicitation but an invitation to participate in a market survey with a reward being a voucher for a cruise (with "fees" being paid by the person being called). They provided an opt-out by pressing the number 9, which I did.

I had a previous call form this number three days earlier at about the same time of day which I did not answer.

They are a scam in the progress of getting bank account or credit card information. Best just hang up.

Recevied a call from this number...went into my home phone and added this number so it is now blocked from my phone and they will never be able to reach me again....your phone company offers this service and gives you control over your phone.

got this scam call today I did not bite

This same group just called me using a different number:
971-220-1029

This number had no complaints on this site or on 800notes.com so my guess it just started using it to get around others blocking them.

I reported that number on 800notes.com with the following comment:

Seems like this may be another ploy to get around the DO NOT CALL list. Recorded message started out that this was a survey on "the nation's debt crisis" and for participating in the survey I will receive a free two day cruise to the Bahamas. All I needed was to pay gratuities and a small port tax.

When I did a call back on the number I got the same recording so the company might be legit. My concern is once I accept a call from this number it would allow future calls based on my doing prior business. Being as I am on the permanent DO NOT CALL list they should not be calling in the first place.

They are using a NEW Telephone Number: 971-220-1014   and still the same old scammer story.
READERS: NEVER give your credit card information over the phone to someone you don't know, that you did not initiate the call for - and remember "FREE CRUISE" is another saying for SCAMMER - DO NOT FALL FOR THIS, CALL YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY IN YOUR STATE TO REPORT this scam.

I received the call today.  The number they used was 971-220-1029.

I got that same garbage - take a survey and win a cruise. The caller was very rude. I waited until they asked for my credit card number, which I knew they would, and then hung up.
