I recieved a call this morning from an automated questioner asking democratic polling questions and offering a free cruise trip from Carribean Cruise Lines.  I was then transferred to 1-888-599-2011 were I was solicited for $118 to be paid via credit card.  I am almost certain that it's a scam of some sort.

I got the call also today from this Chicago number, and did not pick up.

Never give anyone your market opinion for free, as they sell your information to make a profit.
these places also do not call that we are on the do not call list.

genuine market research places often are in person and pay for your time and opinions!

I received an automated call stating if I took a 30 second survey on the US debt I would have the option to get a free cruise for 2 to the Bahamas. I took the survey and pressed 1 to speak with a rep about the cruise. He said that I would have to provide my own transpotation to FL. Then he said he neede my credit card for a 59 per person international water tax. I wasn't comfortable giving him my info and ended the call.

Democrats? Your political bias is showing. They are simply nonpartisan con artists running a scam - I got the same call before from a different number, and went through the whole routine. Eventually, when you reach the point to get a human being on the phone, they try to get your credit card number.

Robocall that did not hangup in response to the SIT signal on my voicemail greeting, and tried to record its sales pitch instead. My telco auto-transcribed the message into text as follows:

"...  "Will apply to begin the survey. Please press one now. To decline the survey and be removed from our list press nine. Thank you. Hello this is Ann from political opinions of America. You have been carefully selected to participate in a short thirty second research survey pertaining to our nation's debt crisis and for participating. You will receive a free two day cruise for two people to the Bahamas courtesy of one of our supporters gratuity for the small port tax will apply to begin the survey. ..."

I got this same pitch before from a different phone number. It appears to be a scam to get your credit card number. When you reach the point of speaking to a live person, they want a credit card number for your "free" trip, which of course will be far from free if you get anything at all.
