claims to be nicor gas company and says they would like payment now

Got a call and when answered no one said anything.  If this is NICOR they have no reason to call at this time as bills are paid in full.

Claimed to be Nicor Gas Company and I gave them my debit card number!!! They debited 300 from my checking account!! Now what do I do?????

they called three times saying I owed 112.59 but after I called after the first call to the 888 number found out I was paid in full...this is fraudulant and when I confronted the office on them they got hostile and hung up.

This place called wanting funds for an apparently over due NICOR bill.  When the number was called back a black man answered and said that they were Attorneys/Bill Collectors for NICOR Gas.  The problem is there was no bill owed NICOR and when NICOR was called they denied knowing anything about these people.  It appears these people are ghetto scam artists who enjoy bilking legit working people out of money.  Its about time these people are stopped, and made to go to work doing a legit job instead of scamming people with threats to get scam people out of their hard earned dollars.  It's bull and if they ask for a credit card number, amount of dollars, social, any of that don't give them any information.  They are a fraudulent outfit!  MY ADVICE TO THESE PEOPLE IS GET OFF YOUR [***] AND GET A REAL JOB!

I just got a similar call and they couldn't even tell me my address. These are scammers. Why the hell has Nicor not stopped this.

1-312-423-7379 called my cell phone asking for my daughter.  When I asked what it was about they said it was about parking and wouldn't say more.  My daughter has no parking tickets.  So, I knew this was a scam.

Claimed they were from NICOR.
I do not owe NICOR any money.

312-423-7479 is for Harris and Harris, a debt collector who calls in reference to past due/unpaid Nicor Gas accounts.  Always check with Nicor directly on any balance currently due or possibly past due first at 888-642-6748.   You'll need to talk to a Nicor agent  to check if any amount may have been transferred to collections or to have any payments reported to the agency.
