This seems to be a "come on" for more sales. I ordered some parts from them online, then received  a phone message from them stating that my order would not be shipped until I called them back. I returned the call only to find that my order was being delayed only so that I could their marketing BS. I quickly stopped my order. I will not use this company in the future.

I placed an order with JC Whitney on 2/21. On 2/22, I received a (missed) call from this number. I called the number back and I don't recall the girl identifying which company she was representing, but she was calling about the order that I'd placed on 2/21. Her reason for calling was that my order was on hold, because I'd chosen a shipping address different from my mailing address. I'd need to answer a few security questions.

She asked for my mailing address. Then she asked for my phone number. THEN she asked which bank issued my debit card. I stopped her and said "you're not about to ask for my debit card information, are you?" She said no. Then told me that she only has access to the last 4 digits on my card number....then gave me the numbers. She then put me on hold. I held for a while, because I really need this part.

After a couple of minutes, I got really nervous because this number did match the numbers on the JCW website, so I hung up and called JCW directly. (The two women at both numbers may have been the same person??)

I told them that I had gotten this questionable call saying my order was on hold. JCW checked my order and said that my order was good to go and would be shipping out that day.

So, I'm not sure what the purpose was of the original call. It's probably safest to ignore them and call the company you placed your order with.

I keep getting the same call saying that my order is on hold, the thing is no one in my house even placed an order, and they keep calling day after day, even multiple times a day, its getting really annoying.

Someone from this number keeps calling my 15 year old daughter's cell phone.  I called them and they said they are an auto parts warehouse.  I explained that they needed to take her number out of their system.  She said they had an order with her number for a name we do not know.  She assured me she would take the number off that account.  However she got 3 more calls from it last night.

very strange call from this co.  they said they could not ship my order for a car part because the address I was shipping to was different from my address...they wanted me to contact my bank and get an authorization code and some other bs... I called my bank and they said there was no problem from their standpoint and to ignore calls from this number.

This number is affiliated with JC Whitney. I placed an order today but the shipping was incorrect so the order was cancelled & reinitiated. This automated system called me regarding to the first order to inform me it was "on hold".

Same thing on $96 order -- company does not ship to PO box so shipping address is physical -- just told them the easiest and most efficient action is just cancel the order. This is the price for stupidity.

I got a call from this number too after ordering from JC Whitney. The guy asked to verify my card information by asking for the phone number off the back of the card. He said the address on my order did not match the address associate with the card. He also said they do this for all "first time customers". I find it strange. But all he asked for was the phone number related to the card, IE: Chase, Huntington, 5/3rd, etc.

I ordered some parts from Auto Parts Warehouse, who I have ordered from numerous times in the past.  This time I was having them shipped to my Granddaughter at college in another state, which is why they called to verify my purchase, so it was a legitimate call.  She had my order number and shipping destination and my billing address, she only asked for the phone number on the back of my card.  Even though I ordered from Auto Parts Warehouse and the caller ID showed the call was from JC Whitney.  The caller said she was in Manila, Philippines.

This is a call from JC Whitney. It was the first time I had placed an order with this company and even though my $10.92 purchase went through on my debit card, they called because they required an "authorization code." They asked me to call my bank and ask for the six-digit authorization code to so they could "verify" that I was who I said I was. I might add, my shipping address was the same as the billing address. When I called my bank, they had no idea what I was talking about. When I called JC Whitney back, the (same) rep made the comment that the banks frequently like to "pretend" there is no such thing as an authorization code. She ended up calling my bank and then called me back to let me know that it was verified. She did not have any other information than my mailing address and name that she relayed to me and I believe it is a legitimate call from JC Whitney, but one of the MOST ANNOYING BUSINESS PRACTICES I have ever heard of.

Hi I also placed an order from JC Whitney as well and I agreed with the verification that they are doing because I ordered part and requested to deliver to my parents house in Texas, i' am from Arkansas. They just want to make sure that it's really me who purchased it to avoid fraudulent activity. Just try to listen or if you are not comfortable because they are calling from a local number 312-431-5633, just do like what I did. I called their toll free number then provide them my order number. They transferred me to the same person who called me regarding on the issue of my order. The  that I spoke with said that they are from Customer Protection Department or Credit Card department of JC Whitney.

I used Auto Parts Warehouse.  I got an email they have not called but the email said my parts were on hold.  They said that I should call them and give my credit card info or call my credit card company and retrieve a 6 digit code and then call them back with it.  I called the credit card company first because it sounded wrong.   They told me the transaction was fine on their end.
