    In reply back to a Craigslist ad, this person is impersonating "Tom Keens" and claims to have an apartment for rent; he in fact doesn't and will just try and fraud you out of a security deposit through money gram, uses the email address <famedxy@yahoo.com> :

    My name is Mr Tom keen, I own the $920 per month apartment located at 3725 Henry Hudson Parkway, Bronx NY 1046. I am the chief technology officer at blue star energy. Chicago IL. I can come down to show you the apartment if i am convinced that you are serious about renting. My wife and I need a responsible person that will take very good care of the apartment.     I am reporting about Tom Keen ,he did rob me .Tom Keen claimed to have an apt in Parkchester Bronx NY.At Metroplitan Ave Using the exact same advertisement above word for word, except he used the Parkchester Bronx location. After we came to an agreement he said he needed proof I had the money. He said he will fly down only if I make a Western Union Money Transfer.Under any relative or friends name as proof.,I had the money.Than he would fly down  after he checks my name & the senders name as proof  we have the money. After I took out the money transfer ( my stupidity ) under me & a friends  name.THE NEXT DAY $3,000.00  money transfer was gone Tom Keen Robbed me  !  He is for sure the son of a [***] !   He was using the web address   www.keentom96@yahoo.com

    Smh I was surprised at first for an apartment to be so cheap in NYC luckily for me I always research! ! And I came across this page. (Almost scammed) 2nd to comment I can't thank u enough because of ur comment I knew this was bull. This impostor sent me the exact email word for word. For a second I was baffled and didn't want it to be true. Me and my family been struggling for so long and with the economy now a days you would think they give us a break and hard working people like this would not go thru this!!!!!  With people like (impostor Tom keen) running around something must be done!!

    He is doing the same in Yonkers, NY under the name Wellington Holbrook. I know someone who was scammed once and needed to be at ease. I guess i was right to worry. Too much information just to look at an apartment without looking.

    Thank you, thank you so so much, for the warning.  I answered his ad on Craig's List for titled "$1300 / 3br - GEORGEOUS THREE BEDROOM!! THE APARTMENT IS REALLY AMAZING!!! (Levittown)
    as you can read below.  

    I don't  give out personal information to strangers over the internet until I do my own research on a person who is inquiring about personal information.   So I googled the name Sam Lamb on the internet.  Everything looked good, a person by the name of Sam Lamb did verify that he is the Vice President of Card Service at ATB Financial.  Same city and country (Calgary, Canada).  I even looked up the address online a house appeared not an apartment which I thougt was strange(red flag).  I also think it is strange when so called professionals don't have spaces after a comma when they should be.  And when they write type a small "i" instead of a capital "I".  But that's just me.  So I was ready to email him when I saw his phone number so I googled that too.  I wanted to know where I was calling and low and behold I come across all these posts about a person by the name of Tom Keen who is a con artist.  Thank you for warning others of this con artist.  I pray that God in His way will restore to you the money that this person stole for you.  I also pray that the proper authorities will arrest this person and his destructive plans will come to an abrupt end.  Again, thank you all so much for your concern for your fellowman.   May God richly bless each and everyone one of you.  In Jesus name I pray.

    These people are frauds located offshore (Africa I think) and they are trying to take advantage of people in NY and have been doing so for about a year.  I am quite frustrated about this as they are using my name for bad purposes.  I have reported it on anti-fraud international and I encourage you to look there for more details.

    so sorry to hear that but if it is any consolation, it was because of your post and the others that were on google, I found out that it was a scam when I was searching for an apt. for my son.
    this time he used Sam Lamb from Canada, A red flag went up when he emailed me back so fast and told me where he works, who cares?  was my thought, he was bragging, so I started digging on the internet and found these posts about the scam.    Thank you, thank you
