This time someone was there and was rude and hung up on me when I asked what this was regarding....

I received a call from this number today - caller was abusive and would not tell me what issue was about.  It was like someone trying to mug you on the telephone.  I hung up.  They immediately called back.  It is awful that verbally abusive people can call you in your home and beat you up for no reason.

They keep calling me on my phone asking for a family member saying its an important legal matter, when i ask them how they got MY number or what the legal matter is they refuse to answer my question. I will not have my family member call them till i know what it is regarding.

I received a call yet again tonight for the same person we've been getting calls for the last 8 years.  I googled the phone # and this is the info that comes up:

I had the worse time with Blitt & Gaines. 1st I was laid off from the mortgage industry and coudn't find a job.. I had to relocate to another state. I sent Blitt & gains a letter informing them of this. The filed a complaint and I had jsut started working 1 week before I was served. I called them immediately and spoke with a representative (i can't remember his name) and explained that I wanted to pay them and if they would give me two weeks I would start making lump some payments. He agreed to the terms. I made the first payment two weeks later and when it came time to make the following payment, I missed the cut off time for fed ex and it reached them the 1 day late. Well sure enough the day it didn't make it there i got one of those calls from good OLE Blitt & Gaines. And the phone of course hung up. I called right back and reveived "Fabian". I explianed my situation (once again). So he asked me if I was going to pay them the money. I told him I had made arrangements and he shoudl look in the system. He replied by telling me he would jsut see me in court. and hung up. I called irhgt back and continued to get him... after the 3rd time of him hanging up on me.. He stold me if I didn't stop calling he was going to call teh police on me. I told him to please do it. That he called me first... after he hung up again, I finally called back and got anotehr rep who I asked to speak with a supervisor. I reached Ms. Stephanie Lenzie. Who was nice in teh beginning to work with. After explaining to her that I had worked inteh legal arena as well as been a regulator for a state, I well knew the FDCA (fair debt collections act) and that they were in volation. She applogized and assured me it wouldn't happen again. Well it happened with him again, with Steven, and eventually, I had to file a complaint with the atty general, Fed Government, ARDC, and I actually sent complaint letters to the home of Mr. Blitt & Ms. Gaines. I received many calls from them as well and at first they are nice. Then they told me they would see me in court. It seems I had money from an old credit card American Express I believe. I have since paid them off so we will see if they continue to call. I just hate how rude they are and threatening court and jail.

I got a call today from this number claiming to be from an IL attorney's office. The man stated that he was looking for my husbands ex brother in law and that our number had been left as a message number. Anyone else had this happen?

This company has called me several times looking for a person that does not live with me.  I have told them every time to stop calling.  They also illegally call using a machine.  If you're sick of them report them.  Just google Federal Do Not Call.  If they continue to harass you can file a law suit :)

If they really did threaten jail you have a law suit.  That's totally against the law.  Look up your rights :)

They called from 312-920-0620. saying if your not the intended person connect and hang up..then they called right back from 815-680-5150 and hung up when they got the same answering machine message. scum bill collectors

Never received any response from them, sent a validation of debt letter and no response. Next thing I knew lawsuit was filed and I had only 5 days to answer a summons. The lawsuit was filed before the 30 days that I have to dispute the debt. These people are carzy and are breaking the FDCPA laws. File a complaint with the attorney general of Illinois and with the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary commission, the web address is www.iardc.org 

We can stop these people. I have already mailed my complaint and also complain to the BBB (better business bureau) and FTC (federal trade commission)

I have paid over $3000.00 for a debt of 2 capital one credit cards at $500.00 limit since 1998 and 2002. I completed the 6 month arranged automatic monthly payment in 2004 and they told me I owed them more money. They wouldn't work with me or provide me with paperwork showing payment history or balance so I said $%&($)(. I then got a wage garnishment served against me (I am county employed.) Reluctantly I paid it off in 2008 and then some ($1400.00) more than the original debt with interest. Now in 2011, I inquire about a mortgage, got my credit score nearly perfect and wage garnishment papers get dropped off at the front desk for me in which my boss handed to me. (Humiliating). They want to garnish my wages saying I owe them $1700.00 more for an open capital one credit card. I checked my credit report again and wala capital one credit debt appears. I called the Blitte and Gaines firm and they said if I can't produce a paid in full receipt issued by them than I can appear in court. When I said I was going to show up either way, they than wanted to work things out with  me. I'm done. I'm getting an attorney and I'm suing to get all my money back and for humiliation and embarrassment at work with my new boss and to leave me the hell alone. God only knows what impression my new boss has of me now. "Oh she must be in financial trouble."

They are doing the same thing to me...They bought from Capitol One I think these companies are in cahoots. They will not come up with paper work to verify I owe money.  My debt is up to 15,829.39 that is interest building up.. I hope this is not legal? Now they are gong after my employer for money. I also am getting an attorney.
