Missed call from this number

The number 314-345-2900 belongs to the United States Postal Service claims department for damaged domestic package claims. This is a positive ID as I have a claim for them and they returned my call from this number. They also left me a message to call them back on a toll free number which is a good number.

This number calls repeatedly without leaving a message. I do not believe it's operated by USPS - I'm sure they would leave a call back number or message regarding the reason for the call. Also, I have not given USPS my number for any packages shipped, so there is no reason for them to have my personal cell number. I called the number back on the off-chance it was legit; it rang and rang until the system hung up for non-response (no pick up on other end).

They called me and hung up when I didn't answer, and didn't leave a message.  I work for the US Postal Service and I don't have a claim.  It seems suspect to me because claims sends letters, and doesn't call people. USPS claims are processed on line.  They mail you instructions and then mail you a letter denying claim or a. Heck if claim is approved.  I don't have any knowledge as a Postal worker that this is a valid number. Scammers are getting really good a perpetuating official organizations.  Be careful.
