Got a call from this number. What do they want from me?

He calimed to be an "officer"

This number relates to a debt collector for payday loans. They call from overseas and the number that comes up on caller ID is a +052... number. They claim to have a legal matter to discuss and if they do not hear from you or your attorney by the end of the day they will be reporting it to their Financial Crime Investigations department as though you are avoiding your obligations.

Bottom line is this is a bunch of BS and a scam! They are not legally allowed to represent themselves in any format which implies that they are capable to take you to court unless they have a licensed attorney review and take the case. They are NOT permitted by law to make such threats or claims. It is against the FDCPA.

Should you come across these scam artists, file a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission and do not talk to them other than to tell them to not call you or anyone related to you ever again. Give them NO information that is personal or financial in any way.
