Called but I do not answer calls I do not recognize.  Most likely a call spammer.  Once identified and if unauthorized, they will be billed $50.

The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies and scam artists of every despicable sort is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt associated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St / Congress / Big Oil / Big Bankers / Big Business / Military / Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission. News reports claim that some of these nefarious rogue calls are originating from overseas, where the caller claims to be a relative down on his or her luck who needs hundreds or thousands of dollars to get out of trouble, a policeman or government agent threatening their unwitting victims with lawsuits, fines, garnishments, seizures of property and imprisonment, and any other unconscionable tactic they can use to terrify and swindle the unwary out of their life savings.

Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers almost never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence against them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action against you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with something like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."

Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. “John Doe” not “Jonathon Q. Doe” or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen identity, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence against them should they pursue legal action against you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action against you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency.

Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, phishing scammers, "faith and family" scammers, political action committees and other low-life flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.

Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and date of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like 800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.

she said she was doing a survey on the Current ratings of films. I was asked 4 questions on ratings of films for children. She said for answering these questions, I have a $5.00 credit and someone would call me back in a few days to explain how this works. I told her "How will I get my $5.00 credit if you only know my name"? She said "I do not have the details, but the person that will call you back can explain. By supporting us, you will be making a big difference on how movies and TV programs will be rated."  so I said "Are you telling me I have to buy something in order to get my $5.00 credit"? She said again, "I do not have the details, but they can answer you when they call in a few days".

No message, phone answers on 4th ring, caller gave up on 3rd ring, ID said "corp4character".

I don't answer calls unless I recognize number or it is in phone directory.  I do not have answer service on this line............

I want to know who these people are so I can report them to federal authorities.

It's the same network of criminals. They disguise themselves as a survey to steal your credit card information. The survey is baseless and pointless.

People never ever Give out personal information over the phone, especially for a survey. Caller ID is spoofed and the number is fake. Know the signs. Entire operation is still illegal the company must state who they are and provide adequate call back number and have an option to opt out.

BEWARE THE CALL IS A SCAM. Warn others and report. All they want is your personal information. They aren't a company just a company of criminals. Don't call the number back. Don't press any number.

Called me at my new business number.  I answered with my company's name and said "this is Kendal." She asked to speak to Charles.  I said "I'm sorry you have the wrong number." She scoffed, rudely said "excuse me" and hung up.

Called from Indianapolis, Ind., ignored.

We are registered on the National Do Not Call Registry and I swear it seems that since I registered all of our phone lines we get even more calls.  It is almost like someone has stolen the Do Not Call Registry and is using it as a phone list.

The company called, asked for me then said they needed to go. What is that about? I don't live in Indy, either.

Looking around the web, other people have also had them call, then ask is this {whoever} then the caller asks nothing else and hangs up.

Was asked about tv shows and movies for kids ... 4 questions ... then told to sign a petition by phone I needed to press 9.  I didn't do it and she was irritated, I asked if they could mail the petition to me and she said yes and hung up.  Maybe not???  :)  Not this time SCAMMERS!

this co. has called me for days.I usually ignore,but i answered today.Big mistake.The woman asked if drew was there I said yes,she replied:thank you no other message needs to be given .Then she hung up'So I called them back.Life giving moments or something like that answered.A recording said to press one if you want to be taken off their call list.I pressed one.Then it said press another number for customer service,which i did and got hung up on.Tried to call back and kept getting hung up on.I think I made a big mistake by responding to this call.I am afraid that by me saying yes when asked if i was there could be used to say I agreed or ordered something And then when you press a number they tell you to  they could somehow  be using this as an agreement of something.I'm going to call my bank tomorrow .I guess I will wait and see if anything happens.Do not answer this call or respond to them in any way.

Lady called and asked for Bob.  My husband's first name starts with B, so she was phishing - she just guessed wrong.  they surely have a bunch of numbers they use to get you, don't they!!  The believers among us should get together and pray them out of existence!

When they call and have a "free trial offer" I usually tell them that it's okay if they want to send the trial, but I'm not going to give them a CC number.  One guy used every argument known then asked me why not - "because I did not initiate this call."  He kept arguing that he was with X company.  I kept saying, "but I have no way to prove that you are telling me the truth."   He finally hung up.  I think I'll just start quoting Eph. 2:8-9 to them:  I know they'll hang up FAST then.

Didn't answer the phone but when I did *67 and called it back, a recording said not able to take calls. The message they left was asking for my X Daughter In Law

This company calls daily, even though I am on the no-call list.  I don't answer.
