Got a call from (317) 578-6000 today.  Says it's from Sallie Mae pertaining to returned mail relating to my daughter.  Claims they are servicing her student loan.  My daughter is mentally handicapped and has never applied for a student loan nor has she ever gone to college.  Sounds like another scam, like the ones that tell you that your warranty is about to expire (only you don't have one).

Seeing this number come up on my phone was the best day of my life!

Got a call from this number today asking for "Don".  When I told them they had the wrong number he just rudely hung up on me.  Thanks [***] after waking up my son from his nap.

i received a call from this number at 6:25am. no message. when i called it back i got a message saying "your call is being answered by Audix, please enter an extension number". 625AM!!! WTF! aren't there laws about calling times for any business?

I keep getting calls from this number for a Nicole Weigle(sp). I have told them that they have the wrong number and that they are calling a cell phone yet they keep calling. Sometimes early in the morning.

I think its a collection call but im not sure. I called it back and they said it was Audix and ask for an ext. that I dont know.

Very annoying.

This is a collection call from Sallie Mae. You can't really call them back on it because it's an automatic calling service from audix. The company calls you randomly and if you answer it then calls Sallie Mae and they tell you that they want money. That's the best info I can give.
P.S. if you pay them... they stop calling for a while.

This really is Sallie Mae, they call me about every 6 months asking me to repay my loans. Too bad a diploma is not worth the paper it is printed on in America

Just hooked up a cell phone and been receiving these messages. Im 50...havnt been in school since 17.!

Received a call from this number on my cell phone. No message was left. I don't believe it is really Sallie Mae. I never had a student loan. I suspect it is just another scam using random dialing.

Just got a call from Sallie Mae for this number.

Due to unemployment, my government student loan is over 120 days past due and right now I refuse to apply for a Forebearance.

I asked the foreigner to identify his company and he finally did. I then stated that I would gladly talk to an American born citizen. He said something about I could call the main Sallie Mae customer service number and I replied that it repeatedly went to the Phillipines. While I was talking he hung up on me.

This is the seventh phone number that has been used in the last two weeks. I am collecting them in my cellphone and when they call I open the cellphone to hopefully document receiving the phone call on my detailed monthly phone bill. Below is how I have coded the phone numbers into my cellphone.

I do not mind talking to an American born citizen every two weeks, but I will not be talking to two different companies with three different departments everyday.

I too received a call from this number saying they were Sallie Mae and that I had a refund and my mail was returned. When I called it back it was an audix #. I immediately called Sallie Mae because my loans have been paid. I spoke with a gentleman who pulled up my account and showed there again was no balance due and he put in a ticket to research the information I had given him and they would get back to me in 7-10 business days. He told me that they just did there yearly audit and some refunds were due so who knows? Does Sally Mae do collections for others? the 888-272-5543 is the main number so I'm really confused at this moment.

Get at least two or 3 calls a day from 317 578-6000  Caller Id Fishers, Indiana  this caller never leaves a message.  Annoying and needs to stop.  Hope someone finds out who they are and sues them.

I have deep issues with many collection Services mostly do to medical bills and home loan, so getting calls like this is common. Never pay a collection service... you will never get credit for paying the bill. And you may never see any change on you credit report. The Area code is for Central Indiana, but If you read many of the comments this number is going to an off-shore call center.

Never offer any info to this type of caller, they will not change their tactics! You may have no type of loan or the wrong person is being asked for... these are fishing questions!

I have not paid a home loan for 37 months ( so take my word) I have been dealing with these types for Years!
The caller ID of "Sallie Mae" is a simple way to get you to pickup! If it ID as " ABC Collections" no one would answer. Call Block the number!

Want to have fun! These calls will not stop, If you have a phone that ID's callers and keeps info this makes it easy... I mark the phone number with an Tag, then answer the call, give no info but tell them to ID who they think they are calling... "Mr Smith" is not here, they hang up or state they will call back. Next time they have the wrong number for "Mr Smith" keep this up, change to answering the phone number As a Business "Joe's dry cleaners"... keep changing this this around they will call from different numbers.... use the same game...

What will this do?  These are real people, and they are paid to do this. Giving them consistent wrong info pisses them off... than the more you do it, the less they call..... give up a small detail and they keep calling... knowing in time, they will what they want.... it's a game!

called me today asking for information like my DOB and last 4 digits of my SSC. if you're sallie mae, wouldnt you have this info already? they said it was a "courtesy call" to update my info. well i courtestly told them that i will go ahead and "update" my own information online.

never give info over the phone just because they claim to be a part of a company that you might know. =)

Well he called me saying he was Sallie Mae and asked for my birthday and address.I noticed he was writing this down telling me to slow down. So, I said wait a minute if you Sallie Mae this stuff should be in the computer why you writing this down,  then he hung up. I'm calling the BBB.

I block numbers that don't leave messages and never answer a number I don't recognize.

It is ILLEGAL for ANY  collection agency to contact you prior to 8 am.  This IS Sallie Mae who is calling; I recognize that number.  You can file charges against them with the FCC and sue them!!

Friend got a call from this number yesterday  asking for info like DOB, SS number and credit card info for a student loan she never took out. Shes never even been to college.

this number called my phone asking for me in my maiden name that has not been used in 14 yrs and its not sallie mae
