To stop these unwanted phone calls, log in to the Angie's List Web site, then click on My Account at the top, then click on E-mail and Phone Preferences. If you scroll down the page, you'll see a checkbox for Telephone Calls and Request for Reports. Just uncheck those, and you shouldn't be bothered anymore.

    NOT A MEMBER!
I signed up for a survey site (InBoxDollars; said it was featured on Good Morning America), and before I even had a chance to investigate it further it has spawned a multiplicity of SPAM to my paid cell phone (required to sign up) as well as my email!

317-808-3427  Indianapolis, IN  “Angie’s List”  [I am NOT a member!]

I am getting “spoofed caller ID”, “unavailable”, etc. calls where no-one is on the other end; it’s quite disturbing.  I did NOT register to any of these sites.

I find that signing up for the survey site automatically generated SPAM to my ‘pay per minute’ cell phone diminishing my minutes and accelerating excessive charges! As well as overloading my email account.  Hindsight 20/20

So, I PAID to have Angie's List harass me? They call to ask if you've used a service. I haven't. So they want to know why not and if I will consider using them. Cruddy, crappy, rotten business model. I am contacting my Better Business Bureau about this. I tried to edit my preferences. Doobie, duh oh....isn't it cute? ....their database doesn't work and doobie, doobie, sowwwwwy (actually what the chick on the phone said to me), "Sometimes, it doesn't work when you unsubscribe, so you just have to do it again and again." I'm filing a police report.

Seriously people, Google 'Find Toto' and you will find that this service is legit and helps people reunite with their lost pets. If you've ever lost a pet, you'll know how devastating it can be, assuming you having a heart. I personally think this is a brilliant idea and have no problem with receiving calls from them despite the fact that I don't answer calls unless I recognize the number. They left a message, which I kept for a while, and I kept my eyes open for the missing dog. How hard is that? Can you be anymore selfish?
Stop being so paranoid people! If you don't recognize the number, you don't have to answer it!

Wow, derpa herp. You wouldn't have to become a member just to tell them not to call. Just do this amazing thing, called "answering. your. phone." and telling them they have a wrong number. Rather than expecting them to somehow divine that from the aether, you idiot. But yeah, call the FTC, or you know, think for a sec, and develop some common sense. Also, the DNC thing doesn't work if they think you are a member. That stops solicitation (as in selling) calls. It doesn't stop banks, or companies you are affiliated with from calling you, and they would assume that since an actual member gave your phone number. God people are stupid. There really needs to be a class in school on how phones work.

    Geez people
Lighten up. Stop crucifying that person who appropriately expressed frustration about a particular business practice. This is the site where people are supposed to do that! So go jump all over your grandmother instead, will you?  I wish we could put your IP on a DO NOT POST list!

Yeah... go look up the meaning of "harass". Then have someone beat you over the head with the dictionary while yelling "READ AGREEMENTS WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR THINGS YOU MORON". It is in the membership agreement, shown when you sign up. They call to follow up, and it seems to be a good business model considering how well their company is doing, but yes, spew your unfounded pissant opinions all over the forum, derp. And I hope the cops beat the living crap out of you.
