They go by American Readers Service. Call the number and wait for the automated option to remove yourself from their call list. Don't ever talk to them.

Why do you say that? They called me to check on the magazines I've been receiving.
Are they a scam?

Yes this company is a scam and preys on elderly. They try to sell magazines to people that still have 3 years left on their subscriptions. I have been fighting this company and making complaints to the BBB and KS Attorney general for the past year to get them to stop calling my mother.

Got a call from this number asking me if I wanted to "renew my magazine subscription". When I asked him which magazine I was subscribed to, he didn't know. The guy was stammering and nervous. This is a scam. Don't give them any information.

Called and did not leave message.  Caller ID said from Litchfield, MN.

They keep call of this phone number but I didn't answer call back it was about some magazines but last time they call me from another number and it was the same company that I owned the money from some magazines and it was a scam

The people who called you aren't monitoring this website, so you're going to have to either ignore the calls or find a way to remove your number from their list.

I screened this call and immediately looked their number up. I found this website, which seems to be in line with what I presume to be the issue. I called the number back and got a vague "customer care department" automated option which allowed you to do the following: speak to a customer care rep (press 1), find out why we are calling you (press 2), and be removed from the calling list (press 3). This is obviously not a legitimate business. If they were going to be truthful, they would tell you what their company was in the beginning and not have the press 2 or 3 option.

Just got a call from this number and he said who he was and quickly said the name of the company and when I asked him to repeat himself because he said it so fast, he said "Oh Good" as if he had asked me how I was doing.

HE said that they had been receiving reports of "damaged" magazines in my area. I told him I don't even receive any magazines. He asked if i was at an address that I have not been at for 2 years now. And then asked if that was my correct address. I said NO and he then asked if he could have my current address so that he could take me off of the list. I said NO, you can just remove me. HE said he couldn't with out a current address... THAT is CRAP!!! HE then quickly told me that he would be calling back since he couldn't remove me from the list and hung up.

SCAM RIP OFF FISHING FOR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION These people call from different numbers and ask me if i have been receiving my magazines.  I ask them which magazines they don't have that information.  They say I am up for automatic renewal would I like to continue receiving these 3 to 6 publications.  i tell them I do not get 3 to 6 publications.  They can cancel my subscriptions if I verify my credit card starting with 4.  I tell them all visa cards start with 4.  which one do they have.  They can not read me a number back.  Do Not give these people any Information It is a Scam

As many have done before me, I screen all foreign  numbers.  After realizing its a scam I did not even bother calling them back.  In this day in age we must be sceptical of individuals (and companies) that are in the business of identity theft.  If they continue to call I would recommend informing your phone service provider.  But keep in mind many phone companies change you to block phone numbers.  Yet if these type of people are continuing to disturb you, it might be worth looking into and spending a bit more money for piece of mind.

Totally a scam. I just went around and around with this man who tried to tell me they had my credit card information and wouId like to  verify it so they could start billing me again. Bite me. There is no way. LOL. He ended up hanging up on me. Very professional. Called the number back and got a recording, press 2 to have this number removed from our calling list. I cannot stand people who talk down to me and then try to encourage me to give them a sale, so if this yahoo ever does get a real job in sales, I hope he learns how to converse.

I received a call from this number stating my subscriptions were up for renewel, stated I don't receive any magazines. They gave an old address that I used to live at over 2 years ago and that my 5 year subscription has been going there. They asked for my updated address/if I was married and what I did for a living. What does this have to do with magazine subscription I don't have.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and to have my name removed from their records, was told I was being transferred and they disconnected the call.

I received a call like this  about 3 years ago. It starts out "we've heard some of the delivered magazines in your area have been arriving damaged".   I, at the time, was in telesales and thought i should be kind to a fellow telesales representative, so I obliged the conversation. They talked SO fast that I couldn't really understand them.  I was young and naive, and they "confirmed" information making it seem like they were a company managing magazine subscriptions (I receive magazines and I've NEVER signed up for a subscription... some are gifts from my credit card companies, but I've never authorized subscriptions).   Anyway, they told me I was already in a certain plan, they'll save me money because I'm such a valued customer and they'll give me a new deal. So I get passed off to a supervisor who informs me she'll be recording the conversation and I just need to say "YES" to all of her questions, and it won't take much time at all. So... we get into it, and I'm skeptical and skeptical (and about 30 minutes in at this point)... so at one of the questions I answer "No... I don't want that" and she tells me I answered incorrectly and she'll have to start the whole recording over because she needs me to say yes to everything. at this point, I get mad. I tell her I need their customer service number; I'm verifying the legitimacy of their company before I agree to anything.   She gives me the number.  

A day later I start panicking because this was a company I had never heard of.  So, I call them and I get someone on the phone. I tell them I went through the recording process with one of their supervisors and I want to cancel EVERYTHING. Not just the "new deal", but the "existing deal" I was told I already had.  So, I go through this circus again and I get a supervisor on the phone and I tell her to cancel everything.  She says "but you agreed to everything already. you can't cancel". Something about "we already notified the magazine companies, yada yada". I said "CANCEL EVERYTHING. I AM NOT PAYING FOR SOMETHING I DON'T WANT!!".  I explained that they were deceptive over the phone and I was extremely dissatisfied. I was misled as to what I was purchasing because they made it seem like I was already a customer.

She said "FINE", and she hung up on me. I watched my bank statements, and I didn't see any charges. Thank GOD.

Anyway, I still get these calls. Every now and then a call comes in from a random number... today it was this 320 number, but sometimes it is elsewhere in the continental US.  A sweet voice on the other end says "We've heard magazines in your area are arriving damaged, and we were just calling to check in as a customer courtesy.  Are yours damaged?"   and then I promptly say, "I DON'T have damaged magazines and I DON'T WANT any magazines. THANK YOU." then I hang up. Funny how they don't call back immediately....

These guys are SCAMMERS. Absolute, complete scammers. I don't understand how anyone can work for this company.
