This guy as called me the last two days and identified himself as Officer Brandon Newman calling from a law office.  That is the noisiest law office I have ever heard.  Claims I have debt that I need to pay.  I asked him to send me the paperwork on the lawsuit and he said he was unable to do that.   Guy has thick Indian accent and American name.  Sounds like scam to me.

I keep getting calls from this same harrassing number from a guy with a accent saying his name is Officer Richard Scott. I knew this had to be some kind of scam, or someone posing as a officer

Someone from this number called my job 2 harassing me. He said his name is Officer Alex Williams. I hung up on him, he called back and asked me why did I hang up and that I needed to speak with his Senior Officer. Please have these people stop calling me.

Try this.  Turn off your answering machine.  Next time pick up and say:

Senator NAME's office, can I help you?

When they stammer and ask for someone, say:

You've reached NYS (or your state's) Senator (or Congressman)'s office.  All calls are monitored, recorded and traced for his protection.  Is there something I can help you with?

They will never call again, and if they do, they are ridiculously [***].  But usually it works for me!  Get harder next time they call.

They keep calling and harassing me. I am going to ask them for their Bar Association number as this one claimed to be an attorney. Once I get that, I am going to ID the proper lawyer with this number and have them file a police report. Problem solved.

This jerk has kept calling for a month using a different fictitious name each time.  Justin Corner, Sean Preston, Matthew Morris, Lance Morris to name a few.  This is identity theft at the worst.  Claims he is from a law firm and they are going to file a lawsuit.  Or then he states he is a law enforcement officer.  They are now calling my son harassing him.  The phone numbers they are using are:  323-3192660; 310-746-4894- 631-605-6792 or 631-6456817.  This information was stolen a year ago on the internet when I applied for a payday loan.  All my debt has now been erased in bankruptcy so when this jerk calls he states he is calling "about a loss."   This guy needs to be stopped.  His calls are either from Los Angeles or somewhere in New Jersey.  What can be done to stop this guy?  I tell the heavy indian accent jerk that I am going to report him to either the Attorney General's Office or the FTC -- why can't a trace be done on these phone numbers so this guy can get arrested?

ok....where to start...A few months I used to get annoying, threatning, harrasing phone calls from someone who claimed to be a police officer telling me to pay a debt. He had an indian accent, gave me one of the most common american names in the world: JOHN SMITH!!!!! He told me he was an officer from Tampa Florida and that I was going to go to prison if I didn't give him my debit card number!!! I called the Tampa police department and they flat out told me it was a scam, I then called him back after being harrased for a whole week, and told him that I was going to report them and establish a lawsuit against him. Later on he told me that I was a lier because I didn't want to pay and that I was gonna suffer the consequences. The phone calls stopped since. Yesterday I had seven voice messages, which I found weird. GUESS WHAT??? SAME GUY WITH SAME VOICE AND ACCENT GIVES ME A DIFFERENT NAME AND TELLS ME THAT HE IS A LAWYER!!!! HE HAS CALLED ME 27 TIMES IN THE PAST 48 HRS!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE!! I DID REPORT THEM BEFORE BY THE WAY THEY ARE USING PREPAID CELLPHONES

Ive been harrassed non-stop since last month... My main man, as Ive come to know him, says hes an investigator whos name is Alan O'connor.... After doing research I learned that all of my personal info was sold by one of these pay day loan companies, including my banks routing number my account number my social, everything... I contacted the FTC with no help... My best advice is to ask them all the questions, and take over the conversation, and definately do not give them a card number... The biggest hint they gave me that they were running a scam was when they called me a black MotherFer and threatened to kick my a!@... I told him to meet me at LAX and try to do so... No professional Law Firm would use such language... Just be Carefull who gets your info, cause somtimes there is more money in selling it.

I also have been harrassed by these leeches as well. The English names they use mentioned in the other messages postings are the same... it's the same 3  guys using one of 3-4 names. It would be comical if it were not so serious.

This IS a total scam. I liked "S.A.C.'s" suggestion that you answer their calls as" Office of the "Attorney General'" or something to that effect. There is also aa N.J. number of (732)773-5886 that they used today, but anyone who has received calls from them know their voices by now.

Also, if you are so inclined, use any color of language you wish - they have done it with me, but my command of the English language in that reguard is way over their heads. In fact, it's become kind of a game for me when they do curse - their rebuttal is so limited, and listening to them fumble around is about the only "funny" thing about this. BE CAREFULL FOLKS!!!!!
