Come to find out with smart phones. There is an app where you can change your # when texting or calling so it appears to come from an unknown source or perhaps a known source.
As for me I found out it was my boyfriend.  Playing tricks on me or trying to trick me into thinking I am cheating and respond. Who the heck knows what he was thinking. But he fessed up today.

This message is no joke to me when someone sends a text and says my girlfriend is a [***]!

prolly is a spoof number because my guys gf hit me up sending me a "quit [***] my boyfriend and i know hes at your house" type text message from this number today.lol
