- CorrineWho is making these calls?
- NormThe caller claims to be calling from Microsoft Windows Service Center. The caller does not speak English well. The caller does not understand English well.
- LeeTHIS IS A SCAMMER. They pretend to be a Microsoft Service Center. They will try to remote access your computer, install spy-ware, then lock your computer until you pay them. They are very pushy and rude, and will try to scare you into doing what they want. DON'T TALK TO THESE PEOPLE.
- Caller: Microsoft Service Center
- Renee TothI almost fell for it. Was even downloading teamviewer software but something made me close out and just in time thank God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ist they told me to look into my system & see all the red error message that I has more than 10 "oh my" said the foreign accented man! What a bunch of crap! Lucky me I ran a full security scan & am OK
- Dale DodsonForeign sounding man called and wanted to fix my computer when there isn't anything wrong with it. The idiot even called on Thanksgiving morning. They have no respect. Girlfriend told him that she wasn't interested. Told her it was a scam, and after after running their number on google I found that I was right
- Caller: Z
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TDoggSOB called here on Thanksgiving morning, didn't leave a message.
- Caller: California Call
- DrVal01Called Thanksgiving morning (11/28/13) at 10:41am EST and this morning (11/29/13) at 6:28 am EST. We didn't answer because the number was unrecognized. I'm not sure what their business model or sales strategy is, but I can't imagine they get too many takers at 6:30 am.
- BJW0223Just got another call from this number at 8am. Woke me up at 6am a couple of days ago. Usually there is no one on the line but I hear a computerized "goodbye" after a few seconds. This morning a foreign accented male told me he was from the "Windows" service center and they were getting error messages from my computer and he would like to help me fix that. I smelled a scam and told him I would get my computer looked at locally and he immediately hung up on me without another word.
- Employment discrimination lawyerSome company called me at 5:22 a.m. from 323-522-5366. Some guy who clearly sounded Indian said he was calling from some computer company. The problem is that a) I never called for computer assistance, and b) why would anyone think that a lawyer would be working at that time of the day. My work line also rings to my house line at that time of the day. What bothered me is that he woke up my entire family, and my kids have major exams today (and haven't gone back to sleep). I told him that, and he didn't apologize. I also asked him why anybody would call a law firm at 5:22. Now I know why he called. To offer "computer assistance". Ridiculously inappropriate to call someone who never sought help.
- Caller: some computer company?
- Mom of lawyerSomeone from 323-522-5366 called my house at 6:30 a.m. today, offering to fix my computer. But I never sought their help. They apparently woke up my son, an employment discrimination lawyer, at 5:22 a.m. today with the same call, even though he never sought their help either. (He has posted his own complaint).
- Caller: computer company
- Bill| 1 replyMy mom got a call at 7:00 am this morning with same BS. Thank God she was smart enoug to not download anything.
- Bil replies to BillOh yea...The Indian guy even wanted to to check my computer free of charge...SMH :`
- Barbara SchmidtGot a call from this number at 6:20 am. Scared the daylights out of me! No one spoke until I got a recorded, "Goodbye".
- LarryMy wife received a call (12-17-13) from a person speaking english very badly who said we were having computer problems. We need to get on the computer and download a fix. My wife thought this guy was strange and hung up. The thing is we called AT&T just the other day with internet problems! I wonder if that is how he got out number? My wife was smart and just hung up. Don't fall for this one.
- Caller: Did not mention just we were having computer problems
- I Hate FraudstersYep, just got a call from this number. Said he is with Microsoft Service Center and that my computer is downloading viruses and offered to fix it. My wife knew it was suspicious and handed me the phone. I said, "Really, which computer is it? What's its IP Address," knowing he would not know.
Not only did he not know, but he started to give me my home address. I told him "Any idiot like you can look up my home phone and address."
Click! Just as I figured, he hung up. Obviously, anyone from Microsft would not do that.
Personally, I am so sick of even these minor fraudsters I am in favor of a few public executions, the bloodier, the better. Should only take a few. - Doncalled me this morning at 8 Am. Garbled sounds then after I said hello several times they hung up.
- kent allenSame as many others. Got calls at 8:10 AM Fri & Sat. (my day off ) I was in bed but answer machine picked up . They left no message. I was on Microsoft webpage 2 days ago though. Hmm?
- Caller: Los Angeles
- JanGot same phone call at 6:45am est. Computerized voice said they were from Microsoft service center, calling about error messages from my computer. Wanted me to turn on my computer, so they could help me find and clear problems. This call screamed SCAM .... especially since I just had my computer checked by a local tech. Hung up and blocked number.
- Old-Mother-RileyWhich is why Microsoft make efforts to warn against ALL such calls at http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
- I'm Really AnnoyedI was sleeping when this idiot called at 6:30am. When he started talking, I told him to stop calling and hung up on him.
