Been getting calls at our business from this number for the past few days. Whenever I answer, there is a 5-10 second pause, then they hang up.

On my Caller ID, it just says:
"Ballinger TX
325-718-4640"

called my cell. no one there when i answer.

It's a solicitation for a listing in the yellow pages.  Cold calling based on current information in listing.  Don't answer the call.

Solicitation for a listing in the yellow pages EXCEPT they claimed it was to cancel an already placed ad and claimed that we owed over $500 "on our account". Total scam.

Phone calls started on 7/12 and today 7/18 they finally talked.  The call seems to be on a VIOP based relay.

Caller claimed to be from On-Line Yellow Pages and wanted a $200 fee for non-payment and to cancle the account.

Need to figure out how to shut them down!

Was a total scam. Claimed to be from the Yellow Pages. Claimed to want to have me get a verification number by saying yes when transferred, and to not ask any questions. Wanted me to agree to a $500 invoice in order to cancel a $1200 invoice.

I have been getting calls everyday on my cell phone for the last 3 weeks. How do we get these people to stop calling me. ?? They should be sued. Any one have an idea how to stop them please.

Just got a call from these guys ten minutes ago. (7/26/2012).  The person named Mark stated that he is with Yellow Pages online advertisement and even gave me his employee/station ID number which is 5073.  He stated that we had Yellowpages listing for the past 3 yrs and that we called to cancel because the "owner" decided to cancel the listing due to the rate increase to $1200/yr.  I am pretty darn sure that we never even subscribed to any Yellow pages listing service. So when I questioned Mark about it and asked him for a phone number so I could call back later, he kept telling me all I needed to say is "yes" when he transferred me to their "cancellation department" and he emphasied that I just need to say "yes" when the cancellation department asks me if I want to cancel and that there will be a $500 invoice for the cancellation sent out to us.  It just sounds soooo suspicious to me, and every time I tried to question him, he got irritated and pushy and told me just to say "yes".  Needless to say, I didn't wait til he transferred me to the cancellation department to hang up.  Afterwards I looked up his phone number on my caller ID and found out that this number is in Ballinger, TX, and it's linked to a company called Level 3 Communications, INC.

So "Mark" just called me back a few minutes ago, and I asked him to stop calling my number.  He called me an idiot and hung up. lol  That's really "professional" from a so called "Yellow Pages on-line advertisement"

I'm a consumer protection attorney and these clowns just called me.  I was grilling them for information that they refused to provide.  I'm going to contact the local District Attorney here.

I would truly appreciate your reporting them......they've been harrassing our company for 2 days. I told them just to give me a cancellation # but that I was not going to authorize anything while on a recorded line. Asked them for a call back number and then he threatened me. Ive hung up on them 7 times today and they continue to call.

Received several calls at business and then party hang up after 10 seconds of silence

Have received multiple calls with no messages left.  Answered call today and I could hear background voices on the other end but no one spoke.

Got a call today.  Same as others from Yellow Pages to cancel.  I told him that if they were canceling something that they did not need to get anything from me just mail me the cancellation and I hung up.  Called back several time without me answering.  Then the 4th time he called I picked up and he asked for the owner which is not here.  He asked if I was the person who answered the phone and i said yes.  He asked why I hung up   (very rudely) I said he was rude and hung up again.  He called back one more time and I let the machine answer.  No message left.  Will write down the number and not answer it again.

I have received calls from 325-718-4640, 4 times this month, 2 were today. 3 of those times no one answered and I heard nothing in the background, but today on one call, I heard a conversation in the background, however I was unable to understand anything. Thanks to all of you for commenting, it helped me decide to ignore their calls from now on.

I got a phone call a few weeks earlier asking if I wanted to renew my Yellow Pages ad.  The address they gave me for our business was from 10yrs. ago.  I said no then.

Today some man called and spoke to my husband.  He had a heavy accent and first tried to tell my husband we owed nothing for cancelling but that we owed $599 for a listing that we supposedly had since 2010. My husband kept asking questions because the man would talk in circles. My husband  could not understand him and gave the phone to me.  I kept asking for information and he hung up on me.  Then a Ronnie David at station 5040 called.  He was insistent that I take down his name and station and he would give me a cancellation #.  I kept asking how did we subscribe to this and all he would say was "we have legal documents that we will send you after you take down the cancellation #".  He finally got tired of my questions and hung up on me.

Same thing just happened to me...When I wouldn't give our current address and asked him to provide the cancellation number he said "Why, are you in a hurry?" When I said I wasn't giving him any further information he said, very rudely, "Fine, the owner's contract will be renewed for another 12 months" and hung up on me.

Our company received a call from these scum-bag scammers this morning.  A woman with an Indian accent called to say that they were notified that someone in our company requested to cancel our online yellow pages ad.  Considering our company is all of four people and I am the only one who handles such things, I knew immediately it was b.s.  I told her, "Considering we don't do business with you, that's a lie," and hung up.  Then I researched it and found out that this is the newest so-called yellow-pages scam in which they claim you requested a cancellation but then have to bill you for previous years of ads - which you never requested.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM AND DO NOT USE THE WORD "YES" OR ANY OTHER WORD THAT CAN BE RECORDED AND THEN INSERTED LATER TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU AGREED WITH SOMETHING.  Sleeze-bag, scum-sucking bottom feeders!
