334-245-9420 called me at 9 p.m. I didn't recognize the number; ID said Alabama.  A message was left by a recording wanting to know if I would accept a call from an inmate at a local jail or something.  The spot where the inmate was supposed to say his name was garbled.

The number comes up as Montgomery County Jail, but none of the numbers there have the prefix of 245. Also, white pages dot com says it is a VOIP number, and moderate spam activity is suspected.

This seems like a scam to me so that's why I am reporting it.  Weirdly, this is not the first call from an "inmate" I have received.

This number comes up when receiving a call from an inmate at Killby Prison in Alabama. If you do not know anyone in prison or do not want to speak with someone you know in prison and they continue to call, listen carefully to the directions when you answer. There should be an option to block calls from the prison, collect and prepaid calls. Keep in mind the inmate may have dialed the wrong number and will not realize that until you answer. DO NOT ACCEPT COLLECT CALLS or ANY CALLS FROM SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW!!
