This person has called twice from different numbers.  He tried to get me to give him access to my computer.
When I told him I did not see any errors, he called me a LIAR.   He has an Indian accent and called himself Michael from Windows Service Center.

The number shows up as private number. This called stating that he is calling from windows service center. He stated that I had hackers on my computer and I needed to turn on my computer. I asked for his name and phone number. When I asked He then stated the company he worked for Windows Global Server. You think he is a nosy cop or a stupid criminal?

Same story as above.  It was an Indian guy going by David Wilson.  Number was 347 227 6900 x140.  I gave him a hard time and he asked if he could call me back on a better line.  No return call.  This site needs a call type for "Phishing".  I am leaving it unknown since it would me misleading to give it some other category.

I also received a phone call saying he was authorized by Windows technical support to fix my computer.  He said his name was Eric and gave me a callback number of 347-227-6900 Ext. 140.  I called the number and they answered!  I asked him did he know who I was, my name, address etc. and he told me my name, address and cell phone number!  I refused to verify anything.  Scary stuff that someone get so much information about you.
    • Caller: Windows ?  I don't exactly recall

Firstly, if you rang them back on the number they gave you they would be waiting for your call.  They may not even have cleared the line at their end/  As for your name, address and 'phone number, you would be surprised at the number of places they can get that info from.  Anywhere you have given that info it is available to sell on to scammers.oyou have that info on a voters list in the USA?  Do you use comparison sites?  Spome emplyees of USA companies in overseas call centres have been known to sell the info on.

Oh, Andre, I wish I had read this BEFORE I agreed to the $100 charge. I am going to dispute the charge and close the credit card account. At least I didn't give them access to my debit card! Dear Lord I am so gullible!

    JUST SAY NO!!!
These people have been calling me for weeks saying that there is spyware, malware and hackers on and trying to access my computer. Unfortunately I fell for it hook line and sinker, paid the $100 to get it corrected and gain a years worth of service, but when I second guessed myself and challenged them, they put me through to several different people  who spoke over me when I tried to explain that I felt bamboozled and wanted to cancel the service. They got very aggressive and I ended up ceding telling them I was going to report them to the FCC and file a formal complaint. I will definitely cancel the payment through the credit card company. Dear Lord I am a sucker!!

As an additional comment. Each of the people I spoke to had heavy East Indian accents - originally they said they were in Brooklyn, New York - later they corrected themselves and said they were from Arizona - however, the number on my caller ID (that they called from) was completely different than the number they gave me to contact them, and when I called the number they phoned from it was a Vermont number and a woman answered "hello" and stated that it was a personal cell number and that she was located in Tampa, which just happens to be where I am from. Talk about a total runaround! I really am so, so gullible!
