I receved a VM, on my cell phone, from a man with a heavy Indian/Pakistani accent claiming that a friend of mine had committed bank fraud and had named me as a point of contact. He said he represented a company called PCS and that he wanted my friend to call them ASAP. I spoke with my friend and they were clueless. I advised them to be careful as it may be some sort of a scam.

This is a total scam...these people are jokes and try and scare people into telling them they owe money, they really don't and try getting your bank info. IT IS A SCAM! The best part is, tell them off and they start swearing and yelling back at you that they were busted. You can have a fun with these losers :)

It is a scam, they are just trying to get money from them to "settle" a so called legal action, it most likely pertains to a pay day loan they may have attempted to secure. they will cal the individual and say that they owe this company some cash and that they are the legal counsel for that pay day loan company, do not send any money, I have been called and I did nothing, and no one has filed a legal claim. Remember folks that if you get this call, call them back and ask all kinds of questions and remember that if you have taken a payday loan and have paid them back, your checking/savings account was debited for this, also call the pay day loan company and ask them if they deal with PCS.

we use to get calls from unknown or private and the message was always the same. Call us or risk legal trouble. The lawyers are coming to get you and they will not be nice.
This time around this number called and asked for someone not at this number.... and told the same story. Lawyer trouble if you do not call back.
What a scam, when i read the post from kelly, it was exactly how they treated my wife when she questioned them the first time.

Some Indian sounding guy called my son randomly yesterday from this number. He was threatening and rude stating he had his SS number, that my son had taken out a payday loan in July of 2010, and he had better pay off what he owed them. My son told me he attempted to get a loan last summer but was refused because he was military, but is now afraid because they may in fact have his SS number! The stories here all sound exactly like the same losers. I told him for one, legit collectors NEVER yell and curse,  and for two, if this was indeed a legitimate debt he would have heard from them long before now. This guy states that they sent emails to my son's  email address (which he did state the addy), but I know for a fact he has never received anything from them in the past....it probably went STRAIGHT TO THE SPAM FOLDER!!!  He just keeps repeating "I'll see you in court tomorrow"! and hangs up. He just called back again today and ended his call with "F*** your mom and your daughter". How does he know this info? and what should he do about it? He is getting concerned.

I'm a bill collector they called me this morning complete scam use scare tactics to get u to pay a debt they don't own!!! My advice is if u get a call from the Indian guy with the name Jon hang up do not pay they there a scam don't bother recording there calls there untracable but if u can locate them that def $ in your pocket they violate every fdcpa and state law. YOU CAN NOT GO TO JAIL FOR PAYDAY LOANS AS A POSTDATED CHECK DOES NOT FALL UNDER A BAD CHECK THERE ALL SCAMS

Yeah - I got the exact same scam call this morning from PCS. It wasn't even my SSN. Be careful!

On December 12th 2011 at 10:44 a.m. I received a voicemail in which it was """YES EVERYONE""" AS YOU ALL HAVE JUST DESCRIBED ABOVE { a very strong accent of a Pakistan/Indian man } left me the message that said AN INDIVIDUAL WHIM I DO KNOW AND AM HAVEING VERY BAD ISSUES WITH HAS RECENETLY TAKEN OUT A LOAN AND NAMED ME AS THE PRIMARY TO WHICH MAKES ME RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT OF THAT LOAN BECAUSE HE NEVER PAID IT BACK !!!!!! I WAS IN AWWW AND THEN THE CALLER WHOS NAME HE SAID WAS JOHN PATRICK HE THEN SAID THAT IT IS NOW CONSIDERED A FEDERAL CASE AND IM COMMITTING FRAUD. THE NUMBERS THEY LEFT CANNOT BE CALLED INTO. THEY CALLED FROM {347-121-2121}... IM VERY MUCH SO IF POSSIBLE TRYING TO GET THEIR INFO AND OBTAINING AN ATTORNEY TO SUE THEM FOR HARRASMENT BECAUSE THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THEY'E CALLED ME..... LAST YEAR during the summer the same man called me and threatened the same info except he said I myself took out the loan and which i did not. then this JON told me the POLICE WAS COMEING TO ARREST ME AND I WOULD SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE IN JAIL. / NOW THIS IS VERY SCARY TO ME BECAUSE I AM A DISABLED YOUNG WOMAN THAT SO CANT GET THEM TO STOP CALLING ME. WHAT DO I DO AND HOW DO I GET THEM TO STOP ??? DOES ANYONE HAVE INFO ON THIS COMPANY OR WHO THEY ARE ???

I got a call from them and they left a voicemail.  Ronald Green from Weinstein McGregor & Collins.  Tells me to call their legal department at 646-666-8884. Reference File QC80971.  He says one of my employees is under investigation.  

That's funny, I was unaware I owned a business.  Sure convinced me to call back!

I should also add, once I look up that law firm by name, one, there is a "McGregor and Collins" in california (Then why are they using a New York number?) and when I search the number, the closest I find is 646-666-8883 which has reference to the fake law firm Weinstein McGregor and Collins and totally sounds like a scam.  

What idiots.

Out of Area call claiming to be Energy calling Con Edison customers.  
I explain that we are the multi-dwelling complex who must refer to RiverBay Corp.
They said   my phone number will be removed however database show other reports.

News item in Bronx Times for August 2013 show Con Edison is flooded will calls from false billings or collections.

Just got this call from 3472690834 asked to talk to my husband (by first name). Heavy Indian accent.  I said he was not available, can I take a message? He asked when he will be available. I said, "I don't know, let me take a message"  Then he hung up.

a PCS name Chris Hopkins called my daughter's phone left a message that someone needs to get in contact with him ASAP to legal actions within 72hrs, now he called 5 days ago. So now it's 5 days later that I heard the message and returned the call to Chris Hopkins/PCS. He answered the phone using his name not the company he says he work for. I asked him someone trying to reach this number that a voicemail was left about legal actions. Funny he asked me what the message said and who was it from I told the idiot it was from him. Then he asked me my phone number, he was like UMMM not aware of that number can you hold on. Then he goes to say is your SS# such & such I said yes but it was WRONG that's not my SS#. But anyway after I said yes he tells them that a Bank in Miami is suing me for bad checks, he suggested that I pay the matter over the phone with him today to keep from going to jail in the next 72hrs. The cops will be at Miami address asap to arrest me NOW let me tell you I HAVE NEVER LIVED IN MIAMI A DAY OF MY LIFE but he insisted I did. But if I pay them today they can settle the matter I can pay with a credit card or western union them the $. (YEAH RIGHT).....PPL BEWARE OF SOMEONE CALLING YOU FROM 347-269-1320 IT'S A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
