I think this is some college thing, or some continuing education thing. I keep getting constant calls. gonna have to call back and get put on do-not-call list

who is this and why they are calling.u

The number is College Now, a business spam call. Call back and hit 1 for Do Not Call list. They 'say' that they won't call you again after 7 days...

this wont work, they have called me dozens and dozens of times over the past 2-3 years. I have asked each and every time to take me off their calling list. When I get another call (which is within the next couple of weeks from the last call) I clearly see I am not off their calling list. I ask to speak to the manager, and when they come on, they sound like the same person and are just as rude and unprofessional. I just got a call and threatened I am finally going to report them and stop their scamming. It is a scam. be careful. P.S. they claim to be from "college now".

I keep getting calls form this number.  I want it removed.  I do not

I don't know if this is the number that called me, but a man with an Arab or Indian accent talked to me and when I told him the person he was looking for was not here he rudely told me not to lie and then with a cowardly quickness hung up on me.  He said he was with college now.

I keep getting calls from this number too and I don't pick up, but they don't leave a message either.  I figure if its important, they will leave me a message, so I'll just keep ignoring I guess.

@sean: Same thing happened to me! It was literally a few minutes ago, an Arab/Indian accented guy asked for me but I suspected it was a telemarketer so I asked who was looking for "me". He said he was from College Now and wanted to provide some education information? I told him "I wasn't here right now" and he said he'll call back later... I hope he doesn't cause I hate these types of phone calls.

I got called also.  The guy had an Indian accent.  I told him he had the wrong number because he asked for someone with the last name Smith.  He said, "No, I do not have the wrong number.  I have the wrong person."  I said, "No.  We have only had this number since March.  You have the wrong number."  He then said, "Then, what am I to do.  He stole my hundred dollars and ran away from the market."  I said, "Learn English."  He was hard to understand.  I then hung up.  I will not answer that number again.

Got a call from this saying he was from College Now for a CAL Grant. He was an Arab/Indian man with a  374 area code. My girlfriend picked up for me, who isn't even applying, and he continued to do his College Now speech, asking her her address, email, and area code ( which were all wrong, according to his records. ) I finally took the phone from her and started talking to him, and he quickly restarted the process with me until I hung up after seeing this thread.

These are International Telemarketers located somewhere in the Asia area.  They have went beyond harassment and call me EVERYDAY and it starts at 7:00AM EST to 1:00AM.  Some days the calls are between 20 - 30 calls every dam day, but on average they call my home number at least 27 times a day, like today and I am still counting and am currently at #19so far today.  The caller ID displays:  00098, which I finally got a person to finally tell me they worked for College Now and was based out of California.  What have I done?
1. Called the Police, which told me to call my phone provider & that was all they could do.
2. I called my phone provider: CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS and only offered me to change my telephone number, but this would be incredibly difficult.  hold on they are calling AGAIN...unreal
3. Contacted every member of my State Legislature, and Federal level as well.

I HAVE ONE QUESTION FOR YOU ALL AND PLEASE HELP ME HELP THESE POLITICIANS PASS SOME LAWS HERE:
I am retired from the US Army and have yet to use my post 9/11 GI Bill benefits which I am going to use in Law School.  Are any of you Veterans and similar to me in getting any sort of Veterans educational assistance?  I am trying to pinpoint how we got our names put on this unreal telemarketing leads list.  PLEASE E-MAIL ME IF YOU SHARE THE SAME SCENARIO AS ME SO WE CAN STOP THIS!!!   terrymduncan@gmail.com

I get between 10 and 15 calls from this person supposedly representing College Now.  The number that shows up is either +90008 or 900-08, the caller is from the subcontinent, and barely speaks English.  I know they have a machine dialing the number, because there is a lag time from the time I answer and say hello, to the time a person actually comes on the line.  I called and put my name on a do not call list twice.  I called my ATT phone provider, this is my cell phone by the way, and I have told this person repeatedly NOT TO CALL MY NUMBER.   Today I let loose a torrent of obscenity which would make a Long Shoremen proud, and screamed at him to stop calling my number... I cannot believe there is nothing that can be done about this invasive, call situation, especially in the light that they are using my cell phone minutes for calls that I STATED CLEARLY THAT I DO NOT WANT THEM TO MAKE.   ATT said the only thing that they could do was to change my number.  WHY CAN'T THEY GET A HOLD OF THESE PEOPLE AND PROSECUTE.   You can bet your life if I WAS MAKING UNWANTED PHONE CALLS, SOMEONE WOULD BE ABLE TO STOP ME.   I am very upset, and I mean vomit upset.  This sickens me to the core.

On some days, I will get 5-6 calls from College Now within a 30 minute time period. No matter what I say to the guy on the other end he hangs up on me and calls me back 5 minutes later. He leaves voicemails where he says nothing but hello over and over agian. I hope someone can come up with a better way to stop this other than me changing my phone number and soon.

Call from 900-08. Person said it is from CollegeNow in California.  I asked for their phone number to get back to them or ask for a supervisor.  Person would not give any information on their side which tells me this is not a legitimate place.  They want to get all your personal information so they can scam you. And, in doing this, they are scamming the actual CollegeNow School and ruining their reputation. Trying to figure out how to report this so that the authorities can get the info on these people as they do for Nigerian Scammers.  This is no doubt another one of their tactics.

I have had the same problem with my Verizon service. I can not block the calls because  there are not enough numbers. The temporary cure is to place this number into your contact list and then put it to silent ring. The calls won't stop, but at least the phone will stop ringing.

We have been getting calls from these people, who speak mostly foreign accent, for about 2 to 3 months now, on and off once or twice a day. I have repeatedly asked then for their number so I could return their phone call; of course, they hang up on me. I have told them that I have turned them in to the FBI and our MN attorney general, so that has helped with less phone calls from them. I always try to trick them to get more information, but I can never get their number. They have been using 90008 now but yet sometimes it's a long number starting with a V. Hopefully, I can get more out of them so I can write to our attorney general.

It is a "ring central" number.  People can get these bogus numbers, call a bunch of people (for whatever reason), then turn them off.  So, they won't get any repercussions from their outbound calls.  Right now, the number is not assigned to anyone, so we've missed our chance to find out who it is.

I have received many phone calls from places that state they are with these certain college programs. They state that they want to give me more information about school. Most have stopped calling after I told them i was going to report them to the FTC (I think that's the right place. If not, it still scared them from calling me.) My recent phone call was today. It came from the phone number 347-269-4522. The man on the phone said that he wanted to give me more information about school. I told him that I was not interested and not to call me ever again. We got into a heated back and forth battle with words. He finally gave me his name (Sam) and his supervisors name (Mike), both of those I do not believe. Would not give me the phone number to report to proper authorities. He actually had the balls to try and give me my own phone number to call. He eventually hung up on me.

Thirteen minutes later, Sam calls back. Told him that I was going to file a lawsuit against him for harassment. He asked "What is that?"  I just went off on him just for his stupidity. GRRR...

I don't even know where they got my phone number from. All I know is that I do NOT want them to keep calling me. I am frustrated with this issue!

They call me 1 to 3 times a day including weekends when I'm sleeping in the morning and teaching at night. I'm on the do not call list but I can't report them because the number shows up as either 4 numbers or 0's. If anyone knows where to go to get them to stop PLEASE post it on here!
