Supposedly I owe a payday loan from American cash advance. An Indian man with a thick accent claims to be officer Shawn, he stated I owed an amt. Of $502 and I needed to pay it today. I told him I didn't owe this debt and he said if I didn't go to Walmart to get a prepay card to pay this debt off it would be downloaded to the courts and I'd be in big trouble. I then asked for the number to this cash advance place and he gave me another number where another Indian man answered saying cash advance. He asked for my name and after giving it to him he said yea you owe this amount. I said you sound like your in the same office as the other guy and he said no, but you need to call him back. This has to be a scam because I called the first number back and he didn't answer the phone as an officer so right then I knew this was a scam. Secondly the number they call from is all zeros, and lastly they keep calling back to back. DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!! I did ask for them to send me something to my home address since they had that information, and he said no you need to take care of it over the phone with a credit card. I stated I didn't have one and he said he'd call me back in 10 minutes so I could go get one. After 20 minutes he calls back and that's when I told him that I was contacting my local police dept. Then he hung up! Again DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE!

I got a text from this as well telling me to call this number. I called the number listed from a completely different line and it said my Master Card has been locked and to reset it Press 1. Then it proceeds to ask you for your FULL 16 digit card number!!! DON'T DO IT! Credit Car companies should almost NEVER ask for your full card number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even have a Master Card or First Midwest Bank!

Also got the same message on 5 of our office cell phones at once about the "First Midwest Bank card being locked"....called Sprint/Nextel and they suggested if you have a Sprint/Nextel account when you get this type of text & your phone has the capability to hit FORWARD and send to mobileabuse@sprint.com.  This helps them set up the filters to catch this crap before it even gets this far.  Hope this helps

Don't call it and don;t give them any information- its a scam!!  They are trying to get your credit card # and banking info- report the call or text to the department of justice right away so they can be caught before they shut the # down- they are also associated with several other phone # in area code 707.  Don't do it!!!

Got a text message from 917-657-4126 stating "First Midwest Bank ZJZP alert 431476.  Please call 3473383326". After reading the above posts, I contacted Verizon and had them block any further text and/or calls from these two numbers on all our phones.  Afraid that if anyone called one of these numbers, (a) it would cost a fortune (they are mobile numbers from India) and (b) they would try to get important private info from you.  Keep posting about this so others are aware.

My cell phone was getting texts between 01/26/2012 and 01/28/2012.First call came in from 707-955-3042 claiming my H & R card was locked, then three from 347-338-3326 saying my 1st Midwest card was locked and then 2 more from 919-249-5382 saying my 1st Merit card was locked. Too bad for them I don't have any of these cards. Plus any decent bank wouldn't text you.
