I was charged for this call, but I didn't make it.

I was charge for 4 calls on dec 9   calls at 2 min intervals and 2 calls on the 18 of dec  I didn't do those calls

when i ask my long distance company they told me it was telemarketer from New York near green wich and 40 % of those calls are scam at my knowledge I never saw that # on my telephone usually it starts with a  205-226- 202  -647- 866- 888-  witch i think are telemarketer I dont answer those call either  so if we answer or not we will be charge for it  and then be billed forcalls that we didn't make so what is the use of having a telephone if it's not safe and anybody can use it and make money  and have other people pay for them.

I received a bill fom Bell telling me I owed $3.099 for a call placed to 347 368 0984 with directory assistance from Triton Global, I made no such call and have called Bell to no avail. I have reported this to the CRTC but have not received an answer yet.

I left my name and number and got called back 24 hrs later and talked to their rep named "Laurie" who was extremeley rude saying i called directory assistance for a 800 number at 1am on a sunday morning this is what the charge was for ..i told her my bill said i called 347-368-0984 and she told me that it is NOT a phone number but is a billing code for there company, I then asked her what was the 800 number that i supposedly called directory asistance for and was told she has no idea just that i did make the call ..I asked her so i am just supposed to take your word for it that i called this and you have no info to give me about the number i requested? ..she replied yes!

I as well just got an invoice from Bell with a charge from Triton global on dec 17 @ 9:23am. I called Belle and they took the charge off. This is ridicolous such charges.

A charge of $3.99 for Triton Global Directory Assistance appeared on my January bill. It was dated Nov 28. Of course it was totally bogus. After Googling 3473680984, and seeing what others have to say, I called Bell Canada  on Feb 4th to complain. The representative agreed to reverse the charge and bill it back to Triton. I'm glad we are able to interact with others on the Internet to right these wrongs.

I received my bill from Telus,it showed a call from Triton Global for $3.99.I called Telus ,spoke to Darren who was so helpful,checked out that I had not made the call and removed it from my account.I have never had a problem with Telus,always very helpful in solving any issue that I had.I have placed my # on do not call list but still receive telemarketers,if it is a number I do not know I do not pick up ,if it is important they can leave a message.

received charge for Triton Global DIR_ASSIST on my Feb. bill from Bell for $3.99. called Bell & after a long wait (my patience was appreciated - so I was told many times), talked to a representative. she said Triton bills Bell so she would credit my account & backcharge Triton. Thank goodness for the Internet & those who post so these type of scams can be exposed.

Also received a bill for $3.99. Never did the call. We do not know anyone from N.Y.

I had a charge on my bill from Bell for3.99 for Jan 10 , 2013. I will call back to see if I can get a refund as I was told I had made this call which No one here has made.

You are a lucky one.  I just called Bell and they explained the same thing as they did to everyone else on this list of complaints.  Bell did not take this charge off for me.  Who the H?LL are these guys - Triton Global

I Just checked my statement and see this # 3473680984, on my bill, charged Dec4, and as others I have never made a call and this scam of charging other callers from Triton Global Directory Assistance should be reported to FBI and followup should be made who these people are and what are their motive with this scam.

I called a 1800 number left on my answering machine to alert me of a food contamination possibility about pizza,s i purchased from COSTCO When I called to learn the details of the concern there was a message informing me that number was not valid and press 1 to get the correct number after explaining why I was calling they advised me they could not find the correct number I asked were and who was I talking to they informed me they were a pay 411 service .I asked if they were charging me for this and they said no as no number could be provided . I now have a charge of 3.99 on my bill for a service I did not solicit and information that was never provided. This is in my opinion FRAUD as I was not informed this was a pay service .THEFT by charging for nothing delivered . as DECEIT by saying I would not be charged . !800 numbers should not be allowed to charge without making an advisement of their intention

I found a $3.99 charge on my Telus phone bill described as a third party charge from Triton Global for 3473680986 Dir_Assist.  I did not request or authorize any directory assistance services.  Telus said they would refund the charge "one time."  It appears that people are unknowingly being  hit with third party charges they did not authorize and were not aware of.  Telus advised that if people dial toll free numbers such as  800, 877, 866 and are redirected to another number, here is where the extra charges kick in.  Apparently the telephone companies are getting a percentage of each third party billing.  
If you have been a victim, please complain to your phone company, and in Canada to the CRTC and Canadian Anti Fraud Center (note the CCTS (Commission for Telecommunications Complaints won't take the complaint since the third party biller is not a telecommunications provider)

I also received a $2.99 charge on my Rogers phone bill that was described as a third party charge from Triton Global for 207-591-4861 Dir Assist.  I did not request or authorize any directory assistance services and after speaking to a Rogers rep, they removed the charge.  Apparently just aswering a call from this scam number can result in a charge.  So much for my theory of answering all telemarketer calls to stop their repeated calls until they get an answer!

I have had the same problem.  I do not use my phone and am the only one who has access to it.  I received charges from Triton Global saying I dialed directory assistance.  Telus claims that is also the case.  There have been three calls over the last year that I did not make.

Received my bill from Shaw,On it was a charge for an accepted collect call from 347 368 0984 . the amount charged 3.89 for 3 min.This was to my land line. the date was Feb the 2nd 2018. The call was listed as operator
assisted from NY. I never received or okayed a call from them nor have i ever contacted this number. I ask Shaw how scammers make money from this?  Shaw's answer - 3rd parties bill Shaw,Shaw pay's the bill and recoups it from the customer. Just by looking at the 3 pages of complaints here ( re bills from service providers ) it is obvious that all types of telephone platforms are compromised.The variety of companies that recoup from the customer all use the same billing model. I have checked many of the phone lookup sites (the free ones) and was shocked by how wide spread this scam is. Those of us who do things old school and actually
get to look at a bill stand a better chance of spotting the scam. Those who do everything over the phone and allow service providers to tap their bank accounts through any form of e bill payments are at severe risk. Most people in the latter category will not have the time to check for money hemorrhages.As for the service providers they will do nothing to protect you unless bombarded with complaints. A lot of people who do see their bills will look at the small amounts on the bill and will let it pass.Some companies will raise prices to cover their loss rather than address the fake bill issue. So the scammers who tap your wallets are getting very rich and count on inaction to
to keep them in business.So complain loud and complain often. Make the service providers live up to their promise
of safe guarding  E transactions Boycott them if they don't. Simply taking scam charges off the bills of only those who complain is not enough.Service providers make Billions per year and can deal with this problem without you having to foot the bill.

Got billed for a 1:00 min. charge of $3.89 on my Shaw, BC bill for a call received from DIR ASSIST, NY under 347-368-0984. Charges were reversed and was told not to pick up from that number in the future...
