- Michelle replies to terry silva| 1 replyHi,
I too received a recording left on my voice mail stating that it was the IRS and they have a law suit pending against me. To find out more about my case, they told me to contact this number directly 347-389-0029. It took forever to get through but once I did some guy with an India accent came on the line and really sounded like a high pressured creditor. When I told him I paid in taxes this year he told me that the records they have for years 2009, 2011, and 2012 do not match up with the tax returns I did and I can either settle the case now by paying $2000 or he'd be filing a court case against me in the morning. When I argued with him he was rude and said they would have my wages and bank account garnished and my drivers license revoked, etc.., etc.., etc. At that point I told him I would need to contact my tax man and attorney. As he continued to put more pressure on me the call dropped or he hung up on me. Nevertheless, I then contacted my attorney who ensured me it was a scam and to just ignore it.
I'm reporting that number to the IRS and FBI. I'd suggest anyone else who received a call do the same. That area code is out of NY and I really hope that ring of thieves are caught.
Regards,
Michelle - WR VaughnIt's a widely perpetrated scam. Ignore it. NEVER call the number.
- Caller: "IRS"
- Call type: Prank
- Leticia HurnThis person said they were the IRS and that this would be the last final call and that they would be suing. i called the number back and no one answers, so Now I will call the IRS.
- NatalieNo, it's not an IRS phone number. It is a scam. Don't bother calling and don't give any info. The IRS doesn't call, they send mail.
- Tina WestonThey called and said they were from the IRS and were going to be filing a lawsuit against me! Read about the scam and didn't call the number!
- Caller: IRS
- angelicaReceived voicemail, after reading posts on this website, will not call. Do not owe the IRS any money. In fact I get a refund from the IRS every year, including this year.
- TR replies to MichelleGood communication from all - Thank you.
I had a call from the same people and same number. Told me I had to pay $1K of the $5K I owed today or that they would release the warrant and I would go to jail. Said I could fight and court and go to jail or pay now. Two different guys sounding the same but definitely heavy Indian accents; one named Jason Steven, and one named Alex Hill (LOL). I told them I will call back on Friday but this time I'll have law enforcement affiliates who are friends of mine with me. Perhaps I should just ignore it but I'll make my final decision late. In the meantime, DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT TO ANYONE AT ALL!!! PLEASE!!!
Its a shame but that is the world we live in now.
Stay strong..Stay blessed..
