Got three calls from 347 418-0473.  Recorded message stating agent from the IRS asking for you or your attorney to call them back.  Wishing you good luck if you choose not to call them back on will will transpire against you.  REALLY?!  SCAM written all over it!  I finally called them back after the third message and told them I don't give ANY personal info over the phone and to STOP calling me.  Foreign accent and bad connection. Steer clear!!!

I just got a call from an accented person saying that he is calling from the IRS because I am being audited for not paying taxes. I had received a recorded call a few days ago so I knew this was some sort of a scam. I yelled at the guy for wasting people's time on calls like these and hung up. Then I called 347-418-0473 - the number that appeared on my caller-id and a guy called "officer Kevin Anderson" answered the call. I told him I would report him to the police if he tried making fraud phone calls again. His reply was "oh my God, who's this?  But I just hung up.
There must be a place one can report this number. Maybe the police... they may have better things to do though..!

This happened to my aunt today. Russian accent, he stated she needed to send $2,500 within two hours or they would reposses her house and car.

They confirmed that this number is linked to a scam and they are working on tracing it.

Just got a message from "officer adam williams"from IRS requesting that I call back right away or my attorney call him back. I couldnt understand him completely...

Just to follow up .."Officer Adam William" from the "IRS called to request an urgent call from me or my attorney regarding unpaid taxes to the IRS, had a difficult time understanding him very thick accent...beware he is very demanding on the phone and makes it sound very much like something is wrong

Same happened to me. Generally i don't lift the phones i don't recongnise, but since today am working from, thought one of my collegue is trying to reach me, so lifted the phone and as everybody about said the same thing he told me. I asked his information and he told his info as "1111, constution ave, nort west room -2501,manhauton, NY-12645", which is wrong though. He said somebody will come to my home in 45 minutes and put me behind bars blah blah blah. In general if any audit or issue is there you will get a letter or notification from IRS. So guys please be aware of this scam and don't respond. I am thinking of notifying this to proper authories, so that they can take appropriate actions. Have safe time. You don't need to be fearfull if you have done anything wrong. So don't worry be happy and be ALERT and AWARE of scams like this.

Smae experience as all the above. First I had calls over the weekend - completely unintelligible!  Yesterday I had 2 from a female "officer" . she was more understandable but I knew it was a crock of s**t !

I got this same message today from Adam Williams too! Ironic name for a very very thick accent that is hardly understood claiming to be with the IRS. He sounded demanding and very authoritarian on the phone. Weak at heart be very careful with such scam and never ever share private and confidential info on the phone with anyone!

I received 2 calls from 347-418-0473 today saying they are from the IRS and my attorney needs to call them. After the first call I told them I knew they were not who they say they are.They were told to stop calling me or I would call the IRS and file a complaint. They called again with the same message so I entered their number with my call rejection feature on my phone. I attempted to call the IRS on several numbers but could not get a real person.

Got 3 calls from this same number. The person speaking had an odd accent and was naming herself as Kia Robert (or something similar)

Getting call from 347-418-0473  since last week , call back today. Call answered by Steve Smith with ID SO/10142 asking call back from my attorney or dare arrest within next 45 minutes. Very strong voice. Can some one trace this number or caller and fix them for harassing people.

I got two voicemails from 347 418 0473. An IRS officer by the name of Steve Smith, claimed to be, left a voicemail saying that " Call back the IRS number as above otherwise you will face consequences". I called back the number and Mr. Kevin Anderson, claimed to be an IRS officer from the crime branch received my call. I told him that I received a vm from Steve Smith and hence I am calling back. He asked me what is my phone number where I received the voicemail. I gave him the number.

He then started his pitch saying that he is from IRS and it is on a recorded line. He said all kinds of IRS codes and then that 1. I have an arrest warrant issued in my name 2. If I hang up the phone then in 45 minutes the sherrif's department will be at my doorstep to arrest me 3. That all my bank accounts and credit cards will be frozen in the next 30 minutes 4. That I will stop getting my salary as that will be frozen.

He then asked me if I have transferred money through Western Union or Money Gram and I said no. He asked me if I have cash at home, I said no.

He then said that he can speak with his supervisor and see if something can be done. I told him at this point in time that I have never avoided taxes and pay them on time alway. I then asked him to send me a letter or an email. He put me on hold.

He came back on the line to say that he spoke with his supervisor and the supervisor agreed that if I pick ups government voucher at Wallmart,Kmart or Rite Aid through Green Dot Card for $2400, and call them back to give the number none of this will happen.

I challenged him at this time and told him that I have paid all taxes every year and that he will have to send me an official document for the same either in post or via email. He then asked me for my date of birth which I refused to give him. He then hung up.

Next second I received a call from a local number, I picked up the phone and the person calling said that he is the sheriff. I hung up. I called the number back and it was the sheriffs department. I spoke with the detective there and he checked the system and there was no warrant issued in my name and he mentioned that it is a fraud and scam. He asked me to go to the local police station to report the same.

I then went to the local police station and reported the sam and what I was told by the officer that they have heard similar complaints from other residents in the area.

Every one, please watch out. Let this scam not hit you or your family.

Got 3 calls from 347-418-0473. When I called them back, Officer Hudson (thick Chinese accent, hard to understand) told me me that I owe IRS $1561, as I have been sending money abroad without notifying IRS.
As I called from work, he was able to trace my name and the call they made, once I gave them the phone number (home) they had called. Told me that i can settle this out of court and won't sent any mail notification.
Googled it and it seems like a scam which persists, including a call from a fake police officer.

Got a call from T 347-418-0473 Kirea Roberts about audit by IRS and fot my attorney to get back to them.
Call them back. The guy had indian accent and was very pushy. Said the cops are coming to deport me, and that all my assets will be frozen in 45 min. He read legal document of IRS taking legal action against me. He dod not provide reference #. He would not send me a copy but was very .. scary ... said I sent $ by western union and was caused of money laundering... that I owe $3,379.00 He was shouting at me that I admitted deliberately doing wrong and I'm not willing to resolve this. ... I admit I was terrified and wanted to resolve the issue, so I said OK what do I need to do? he said go to walmart and get government money and send it to your local IRS office. ...  HE WILL NOT LET YOU CALL/CONSULT ANYONE... you must not put me on hold, you must pay now, do you have money at home...

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!! try to gather as much info as u can, call back number, and the 'local IRS address" he will give you only AFTER u buy the money slips... He wouldn't tell me and I did try to be ummm terrified...

IRS will only communicate with u in WRITTING! To inform u of a problem
They will give U case reference #
They will give you the officers batch # before they talk to you on the phone.
They will never ask for money over the phone

Do not call the provided call back number, same as u would not click on a link in an email.
ALWAYS LOOK UP CONTACT TO THE INSTITUTION ON GOOGLE AND CALL THEM DIRECTLY.
if there is a problem they will be able to locate it...
DO NOT GIVE INTO BEING EMOTIONALLY BLACKMAILED, AND GIVE INFO OR MONEY...TO PEOPLE PRESSURING U WITH TIME LIMIT!

I got a call from this number and called the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 and reported the threats that were made. I also provided FTC with other such numbers and they said that they would start an investigation. I think if the FTC received more complaints from others that may have received such threats, it might provide stronger reasons for them to take immediate and strong actions to stop this kind of harassment.
