- AngieSomeone sent my mother a virus on her pc then completely disabeled it. It wont even power on. The caller from this number called her and told her that since she denied his previous demands for money he "disabled" her pc. But if she would pay him he would "fix" it with software for additional money. I asked him what kind of software? Whats the software name? He replied "Im not telling you" So I asked what is yor companys name to which he replied again, "Im not telling you"!!!! I am well aware of scams such as this but is there ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO ABOUT WHAT HE HAS DONE TO MY MOTHERS PC?!?!? PLEASE HELP

- anonymous| 2 repliesThey called me, too, and said that I had paid them 4 years ago to monitor my computer. They did a "diagnostic and said I had bad viruses and they'd have to put anti-virus software on it. First they said it wasn't a sales call....after a while, I asked how much is this antitvirus and they said they'd only charge me $100. I told them no. I already had allowed them access to control my computer. He said they'd have to disable my computer. I told them don't you dare and started typing in microwin scam and they kept trying to stop me from typing. I started yelling at him to stop messing with my computer. then I got really worried and turned my whole computer off. Now they are calling me every second non stop and I haven't answered it. I may have disconnected soon enough before they could disable my computer, but now I'm freakded out. They won't stop calling. I'm not sure what to do.

- same as above replies to anonymous| 1 replyThis is the sane person as above. They did lock me out. Sounds like I am a victim of the same scam as the first message above. They probably have what they need to steal my identity. I dont even know where to start to protect myself and get my computer back.

- Disgusted_PCuser_GotScammedMy mom and dad kept getting calls from this business claiming that they were calling on behalf of Microsoft because their computer was sending errors and was being hacked. The first man I spoke with who said his name was John with badge #462 said their technicians would fix all the problems and prevent future hackers from bugging the PC. I'm not very familiar with PCs and I asked them to prove to me that they were from Microsoft. He walked me through a RUN program to show me he had the computer's ID number. After this he had me go to ShowMyPC.com to give their technician access to the computer. They said they would call back after the technician finished to tell us the fee, which he estimated would be from $60 to $100. Then they took over the screen and they appeared to be fixing the bugs on the PC. As they did this, I used a separate computer to research all of the information they gave me, including their phone number and the IP address they said was my parents. All of the search results I found indicated that this was a scam. So when they called back to tell me all of the things they fixed and what the fee would be (now $150 to $300), I told them that all of the information I researched led me to believe they were a scam. The second man I spoke with who said his name was Eric Walker proceeded to yell at me, telling me that they are not a scam and I could see with my own eyes that they had "fixed" the PC. I told them there was no way I was going to give them a credit card so the man just yelled louder, insisting we had to pay or we would never be able to access the computer again. I told him to have his supervisor call me to convince me they are not a scam. A few minutes later another man called and said we had to pay or couldn't access the computer. He said if we tried to turn the computer off it would never work again. So I told him we would immediately report them to the BBB and then we hung up on them. Since they still had access to the PC, they opened the internet browser and went to brazzer.com a PORN site. So disgusting! THESE MEN SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. THEY ARE A DISGRACE TO THEIR FAMILIES AND TO ALL INDIAN COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS OPERATING LEGITIMATE BUSINESSES.

- Duane3/16/15 Same thing here. An east Indian sounding person called and said his name was Roni Martin and gave his ID number as 419852 and called from 347-474-6904 and said he was going to help me fix my computer and that he worked for Microsoft Windows support. These [***] have called several times now and I played along to see what he was going to do. Even after I told him that I build my own computers. He told me to go to My computer then manage computer and then was going to start a sequence of other processes. At that time I told him that I had him on line long enough to trace his call. Then told him the best thing he could do now was to take a gun and shoot himself in the F...king head because he was a worthless POS and hung up on him.
