caller calls me and tells me They have a law suit from the IRS, and it will be conducted over the phone????

Was a Skype call from Caller ID. Computerized voice says there is a lawsuit and to return the call to that number.
Fear-based phishing call.

So far received 2 calls this morning from this number at 9:00 and 9:28.  Comes across ID as Skype.  Did not answer since did not reconize name or number.

rec'd same call just now.  Rec'd same call a few weeks ago from a different number... it's a scam.....

We got a call saying that we are involved in a lawsuit in my local county. They never say what company. Typed in the number and this is what I get. People saying they are not who they are and trying to get personal information from us

Most likely a phishing scumbag type call.

I received the same call this morning at 957 am I called the number back. I stated I received a call from that number the supposedly irs officer said I was audited for ten years and said I was sent a certified letter but when asked who signed for the letter give a fake first name with my last name. This is scam don't fall for it

Same as above. The verbal syntax as well as the subj matter should warn anyone receiving not to call this number back.
It is a total phishing call and if not called back by the phone number they called you will get this number is not a working number, which is done to prevent law enforcement from being able to follow up.

Robo call received, computer generated voice with info stating a lawsuit has been filed in my name with IRS and saying to call the number back.

Called saying they we had been sued by he IRS. Whatever. These guys are obviously phishing for information. The guys name on my end was "Shawn Cooper". Apparently they are naming people Shawn in India now because he was clearly from that part of the country. Give Shawn a call and talk.

Received call, called number back and told Shawn Cooper not to contact my number again, told him I was recording the call and would report him to the authorities; he hung up. Called the number back got busy signal.  Reported incident to the FTC.

Received two calls today with the robot voice saying there was a lawsuit in our local county.
These guys need to be behind bars for trying to scam people. What crap.

Caller ID showed Skype on two calls, unknown on one call.

The recording said they were the IRS and that I was involved in a lawsuit.  They wanted me to call this number, 347-542-8902.
I called the number and a man answered (I didn't catch his name).  He had an India accent.  I told him to stop calling me, that I knew he was a scam and that I was reporting him.
I called the number again to record his name, but there was no answer twice, then a fast busy signal.

Here's how to report the incident to the IRS (from this IRS URL,  http://www.irs.gov/uac/Report-Phishing  )

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS but you suspect they are not an IRS employee ...
Record the employee's name, badge number, call back number and caller ID if available.
Call 1-800-366-4484 to determine if the caller is an IRS employee with a legitimate need to contact you.
If the person calling you is an IRS employee, call them back.
If not, report the incident to   TIGTA   and to us at   phishing@irs.gov (Subject: 'IRS Phone Scam')

recorded message, call twice within 10 minutes of first call.  Left message second time threatening legal action of some kind.  Real annoying, and very criminal.  Never answer a number you don't know!!!

Recorded message - received two calls from new york number claiming to be IRS.  They threated me with legal action at my local courthouse.  Similar story to another scam call I received two months ago.

Just an FYI.... Call the IRS and they will tell you that they will NEVER call your home.

I called and spoke to Mr Cooper.  I told him that complaints were filed today against him with the FCC and FTC respectively (which I did by the way) and that he would soon be taken down for what he is doing.  Then I told him this was a recorded message but if he needed help he could contact the FCC department directly.
