Report a phone call from 347-627-0230 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Christee| 10 repliesI received the email (posted below) from ACS INCORP (acs.incorporation@gmail.com). I cannot imagine that a collection's agency would use an @gmail.com email account, nor does it state anywhere in the email what ACS actually stands for. I have never received a phone call from who or whatever this company is. In the email they actually wrote "Grab your debit card and call us or e-mail us right now in order to make a payment and freeze down this case" listing their phone number "1-347.627.0230." The email states that if I do not make a payment "within the next 48 hours or else the case will be downloaded against" me. The bottom of the email states that it was sent from ACS legal department, I am currently studying to obtain my paralegal degree and work for a number of lawyers and have never once ever heard of a case "downloaded" against someone, nor would we ever instruct anyone to "grab their debit card...to freeze down" a case.
Extremely strange. That is all I have to say about it. I have never been a customer of any business with the name "ACS" nor have I ever heard of this company. It was no surprise that when you type ACS INCORP or ACS Legal department into Google, the very first results to populate are websites and people reporting harassment from this company.
This is the exact email I received today (the only change I have made is deleting my email address):

We will be forced to download this case against you and once it is downloaded the creditor has entire rights to inform your employer regarding this and if you are found guilty under the bench of jury then you have to bear a law suit which will be amounting to $4515.85 and will be totally levied upon you and that would be excluding your bail charges, your attorney charges and the due amount pending on your name $986.45

- Justin| 1 replyI got the same exact message. Just another scam, although this one seems to be a lot more thought out. I was considering seeking legal advice but since it seems to be more and more prevalent, I am just going to ignore it. If anything else comes up, please let us know.

- Adam replies to JustinThis is a well known scam. They will tell you that they are with the legal dept. of Cash Net USA & that you took out a loan & never paid it back. They will threaten you with legal action, tell you that your file is "going to be downloaded into the courthouse". You are going to be arrested, blah, blah, blah. I found a clever way to get rid of them. Today, I got a call from Michael Stanley, he gave me the song & dance about "owing $ to Cash Net USA", I told him to "hold on while I get my credit card, so I can pay this off", I then did a 3 way call with the Cash Net USA fraud dept. (866-254-3581), as soon as he realized that I was calling Cash Net USA to verify who he was, he said "sorry, I have another call coming in" & he ran like a little b***h. I called him back 2 minutes later & he said "you don't have a debt with Cash Net USA, this account has been pulled from our records & we won't call you anymore".
- staceyI got the same e-mail today. Funny how we all owe the same amount. I wish I could get my hands on this guy!!

- David replies to ChristeeI just got that same exact email this morning, word for word. It amazes me. They tried to do this to me months back. Saying I got a $300 payday loan from some place and they say in the email i owe $986. It's just funny how we all get the same email word for word. I told them that it's illegal for a military service member to get payday loans. Wonder how we can stop them from sending us this and harassing people
- AnnoymousI recieved the Exact same e-mail today

- Gino In IowaI just received the same email that everyone else who has posted on this site received. It says I owe the exact same amount as everyone else on here. I think this is total crap and that our police, government and state officials aren't doing more to put a stop to this kind of internet garbage. These scammers need to be stopped immediately and in their tracks. They need to be locked up and kept out of society. All they want is money and they want it the easy way. I have gotten numerous calls from scammers but this is actually the first email I've gotten. I'm so thankful for this site so I can type in the number and compare stories. This site is truly a great site to determine whats fact and what fraud! Thank you!

- Sandy replies to ChristeeGot the exact same email a frew minutes ago, word for word. even the total they gave you are the exact total they gave me, down to the $986.45. UMMM, what a coincidence. I felt this email was a scam and i also looked at the wording, the download thing they said, and the grab my debit card. all this was suspicious to me. Not going to send them a damn dime.
- ANONYMOUSI received the exact same thing...word for word...dollar amount and all!!
- AnonymousI received the same email with the same dollar amount. Actually thought I owed since I had a spouse who was using payday loans at one time. Thanks for the input and Im glad I looked them up.....
- AnnaI have repeatedly been harrassed and am now starting to recieve e-mails from this number and the g-mail address. I recieved the same exact e-mail to the tee except for the account number. Never got a company name either, but I was supposed to pay the same amount or within 48 hours I would have a case downloaded against me which I know is not so. Also when they call, it's always a man with a thick Indian accent and he says there will be a mark against my social security number. I call [***]! :)
- Tesha replies to ChristeeI received the same email with the same amount. I have no idea who these people are.
- nhnaz replies to ChristeeWow, yep I received same email today. It read the exact same way verbatim. I took the phone number from the email and did a search on this site.
Interesting.
Glad for sites like this! - Ebby| 1 replyI just got the EXACT SAME EMAIL! It doesn't even address me by name. It doesn't say who I supposedly owe money to just that I owe $986.45 and If I don't pay a law suit will be filed against me which will have me owing $4515.85. It also thanks me for being a customer. :-/

- Jayjust got the exact same email. Was looking at how to report it. If you know how to report this since as I am seeing they have been doing this for quite some time, please let me know. I feel for the people that are unaware to do searches like this and fall for it.
- WBW in IA| 1 replySame email, same number, same everything. I called the person and he answers, how can I help you?
I asked him what company he works for and replies Cash Net USA.
I asked for his employee identifying number, he never gave it to me but asked for the account number.
I gave him the supposed account number and he asked for my name. I asked if he had my name onfile, he replied no.
I told him to rot in hell for trying to rip people off and that the proper authorities would be contacted.
Hope he gets what he deserves.- Caller: CashNet USA

- WBW in IA replies to WBW in IAJust called CashNet USA Fraud Department and they've said they currently have an investigation on the person/persons that are claiming to be affiliated with them.
Here's what she said to do.
For future reference, the following advice is offered to those who receive a suspicious telephone call or emails about an outstanding debt:
Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
Contact the original creditor to confirm the debt and verify that it was sold to a third party.
Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
File a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission at http://www.ftc.gov/index.shtml if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise.
Hoping that this helps you guys out! - carol replies to Christee| 1 replyI got the same email with the exact amount of $986.45. WOW
