Pioneer Collection, Bronx, NY  Unethical and persistent. Got my cell phone number.

Call once a week, never leave a message.

Don't know how they got my cell# since only close friends have it.

And I don't owe anybody any money. Clean credit report.

Don't want to answer the phone because they may then realize they have a live one.

annoying collections agency calling for the wrong number, nasty rude

We screen all calls for precisely this reason. The caller never leaves a message but only ever hangs up. They have begun calling well before 9 AM. The other day at about 8:15 AM I picked up on the second ring and just listened, but there was only silence—nobody tried to prompt me to speak or anything. Today at about 8:30 I picked up on the second ring and said, "Hello," but if I hear dead air on the other end I hang up after a second or two without repeating my greeting, which is what happened today. We do not have caller ID; I dialed *69 to have the phone company tell me the last number to call my line.

called my home # looking for someone named Shawn.....no one here named Shawn.
I asked if it was a collection call and she said "no"

These people say hello when  I pick up, but then hang up on me and don't answer. They call early in the morning. If they are a collection agency, what's the point in hanging up on everyone?

Recieved a call at 630pm. Didnt see the call til afterwards. Left Message. A Bill collector calling for someone else.

I received a fishing call on my cell phone from someone whom, "was completing a business transaction for you and need you to verify your birthdate and/or last 4 of your SSN before I can identify myself." I laughed and told him that I would not give any such information until he identified himself. Ignoring the response he then asked, "Is your birthdate August (something) 1989?" To which I replied, you have the entirely wrong phone number. The number is a New York (Brroklyn, Ridgewood area) landline.

u need to tell them its a wrong number. the calls will stop!

Get the location right, they are out of Buffalo NY

Called me and said they were trying to contact my neighbor, who had given them my cell # as an "emergency contact".  Gave her name and a contact number, as well as a reference number.  Was insistent they called back before 9 eastern...
