Received a call two days in a row.  Don't recognize the NY number and never made any attempts to answer the calls.  Somebody needs to get a life or a decent job!

"A loved one has been trying to get in touch with you." Not a recording. So, I let the person go on with the story. And went on about blah, blah, blah. And my loved one wants (not needs or asking me), my loved one wants money. I told this stupid to stop the [***] and if I have any loved ones left on this planet, tell them to come on by. I said, I have a couple of friends are here waiting for them. 'Smith & Weston'. They just called once today.

They claim they will help you if you have had exposure to Asbestos. What they want is all of your personal information. Do not give them your Name, Address, Date Of Birth or any other information that would let them apply for a credit card, open credit accounts at online or other retailers or steal money from your bank accounts. This is a scam. They won't recover any money for you. They are not a real Law firm. The best course of action is to not answer any phone calls from numbers you don't recognize. Let the call go to your answering machine or service. If it is important, you can take action after listening to the message. Do not try and call them back. This only lets them know your phone number is live. They can sell your number to other scammers. If their spoofed number is a relay number to a number based out of the country, you may be charged for those calls.

At Friday January 23, 2015 at about 09:30am I got a phone call on our home land-line from caller-id "Cell Phone NY" with the number (347) 837-4960. The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY is, clearly, a joke. And, a taxpayer funded worthless money-pit for taxpayers. Although, someone's getting all that cash somewhere down the line. The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY is not a deterrent as it is never upheld or enforced. You can complain to the proper authorities until you're blue in the face, and they do jack-squat in every case. So, I never ever answer any phone calls, whatsoever, from blocked caller-id's or caller-id's that I do not personally recognize be it land-line house phone or my cell phone. Both the land-line and cell phones have full function message recording capabilities. The greeting and invitation to leave a message is purposefully short. I live screen the home calls and pick up if it's a legitimate call, or I immediately listen to the cell phone voicemail once I get the notification that there actually is a voicemail waiting to be reviewed, then I immediately call back if legitimate. NEVER EVER answering phone calls with blocked caller-id's or unrecognized phone numbers, especially with out-of-area unknown area codes, consistently over the last year or so HAS GREATLY REDUCED THE NUMBER OF ILLEGITIMATE/SPAM CALLS WE RECEIVE. Eventually, it seems, they remove your number from their call list(s) if they never ever connect with a live person. In this case, the caller let the outgoing message greeting play in full, and after the beep... did not leave a message. They just hung up.

Recorded message exactly like the ones reported here except it referred to ibuprofen and not mesothelioma.  When I tried to call the number it wouldn't go through. I'm on a no call list but between these guys and the foreign guy from Microsoft who wants to fix my computer I'm going crazy.

It is a telemarketer. Even though it starts out saying this is not a sales call, do not hang up. She gets as far as saying I am receiving this call because a loved thinks ... then I hung up.  I have heard this one before. They are trying to sell a medical alert service or something along that line. I am not elderly. Don't need it, don't want it and I am on the do not call list. Unfortunately I had to answer the phone because I am waiting for a couple of important calls and nobody's phone number matches their location anymore.  I don't understand why anyone would buy something over the phone from someone they don't know.
