I didn't receive a phone call, but I received an email from acs saying that  I owe $986.45, and to call them at 1-347-983-0385 to make payment through a debit or credit card or I would have a lawsuit levied against me.

No way guys! I received the same email just a few minutes ago that I owe $986.45 and to call the 347-983-0385 to make a payment to "freeze down the case". I researched the number right away. I have no idea who they are and I do not know why they think they can jail anyone for a cash advance since mine notes that I will owe $4,515.85 in lawsuit fees which excludes my amount owed of $986.45 and also excludes my bail and attorney charges. My cash advances are in consolidation so I am about to forward this to the rep at Oak View Law Group.

I just got a call from this  3479830385. They told me I owe 986.45 from some online company I borrowed money from. They couldnt give me the name of the company and none of its info.... This is a fraud to get funds from you. DO NOT BUY IN TO THEM!!!

Hi...I actually received an EMAIL from this company advising that I owed them $986.45 also.  Kind of funny we all have the same amounts.  Here is a copy of the email that I received:

"This is in reference to your Account number 78640 with ACS in order to notify you that after making several calls to you on your phone number, we were not able to get hold of you. So the IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center) has decided to mark this case as a flat refusal and press charges against you.

Your account with ACS is in Final Collections. According to our records, your outstanding balance is $986.45

Do revert back if you want to get rid of these legal consequences and make a payment arrangement within the next 48 hours or else the case will be downloaded against you.

The opportunity to take care of this voluntary is quickly coming to an end. We would hate for you to lose the option of resolving this before it goes to the next step which is a Lawsuit against you, but to do so you must take immediate action.

As we have shared with you in previous letters, read your loan agreement; the next step is clearly defined. It could cost us both a great deal of time and money; you can avoid this by taking care of this now.

It is quick and easy:

Grab your debit card and call us or e-mail us right now in order to make a payment and freeze down this case.

I also received this ridiculous e-mail a couple of days ago, I know it's from the same scammers that have been harassing me on my cell & at work since the summer of 2011, I called the number on the e-mail that day, of course it was a "[***]" I got, I asked him what the e-mail was about (same account # for all of us!!), he started some crap about I owed them this amt. for default on the acct., I told him to stick it & not to expect ANY money from me & hung up in his face!! I also replied to the e-mail yesterday & essentially said to either send me proof of a loan I defaulted on or shut up, that I know no one can be sued for an Internet loan, I have had many, have defaulted on many but paid them off through consolidation companies & would definitely have known if I had a loan that I didn't pay off!! Idiots!! Do NOT give in to their threats, I only hope they are caught & wiped out SOON!!!!

Angela, read my reply below, same e-mail, guess they got tired of their incessant phone calls being blocked on my cell & the people I work with laughing in their face!! lol

I have received calls from these idiots for months, then this week an e-mail threatening to sue me for thousands of dollars if I don't pay them with my debit card!! They use many phone #s that aren't traceable, from outside the USA, ? India, total scammers that can't be located, therefore can't be stopped by authorities!!!

I just received the same email stating I owe $986.45 and if I don't grab my debit card and call and make a payment then a lawsuit will be downloaded against me.  What a bunch of scam artists. Please people don't fall for this. What company would send the same email to a bunch of people? They are just trying to get money from people and I KNOW I don't owe anything. Don't fall for it!!!!!

I have recieved the same email today. I called the number and they said that they couldn't tell what company the loan was with. I told them that I need to find out the company the loan was from. According the email I owed $986.45 also. I am not going to pay this email any attention.

Same Email!!!!!!!! Amount owed & everything. i called using a fake name and they had a 'file' on that name too, REALLY. that's when it was confirmed something was up. I called back using my name and asked for the info of the company i supposedly owe. The # he provided is 3476270230. When I called it, the first guy i talked to answered. SMH!!!!!!!!!! They have been calling me since summer of '11. Only in the 'Land of the Free', Tragic.

I just got the exact same email stating the same account number 17864.  I owe $986.45 and if it goes to court I will owe $4515.85!.  Its ironic we all have the same amount we owe!  ACS Legal Department - These are scammers and I will be reporting to the proper officials!!!

I am also a victim from this scam and am requesting some type of action be taken. Thank you.

I received an email from this company.  I reported it immediately to the Federal Trade Commission as this is a major scam.

I received the email today-yep for the same $$ amount.  The email says everything the same.
