- Jay toospammers who will offer to lower your credit card interest-- IF you give them your personal information. Don't fall for it.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- WycketteName on ID is "Lower Interest". I couldn't get to the phone in time, and no message was left.
- Caller: Lower Interest
- Call type: Telemarketer
- KathyEvery day a different number calls wanting to lower my interest rates. I have said take my name off your list and do not call any longer and they do not.
- Caller: unknown
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ChrisThe caller ID said "Lower Interest" so I answered (because I've seen it on my caller ID multiple times). An automated voice came on and said I could press 3 to remove myself or press 1 to speak with someone. I pressed one and became, what the automated voice called, "fourth in line," aka. on hold. When a live voice got on the line I asked them to remove me. He hung up on me instead.
I called back but it was an automated voice telling me to enter my number in their do-not call list. Instead of entering anything, I stayed on the line . . . . and the automated voice said my number was successfully entered. What a load of crap.- Caller: Lower Interest
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NoelleDidn't answer since I didn't recognize the number. Left no message.
- Jann| 4 repliesThey are relentless!!! I've pressed "3," to "discontinue" calls, many times and when I tried to talk to a live person, the caller hung up while I was in the middle of asking to be taken off their call list. What can be done about this?
- Caller: Lower Interest

- GarySame message from Rachel. Just different phone number. I've exhausted my call-blocking capacity with Comcast. Filed another FTC complaint but I think I'm wasting as much time doing that as I am messing with Rachel.
BTW, this time was a little different. I could not hang up until Rachel completed her message. I don't remember that before. - Larry NorrisJust Got call from this number...no one there?
- Jim| 1 replyThis is from the infamous "Card Services" that has been bothering us for a few years. This one was a robo-call from "Rachel" who says among other things "there is nothing wrong with your account, it is urgent you contact us...this is your final notice"
Caller ID showed as Lower Interest. On recall to the number a garbled recording said "enter the number you'd like to add to our do not call list" even though I did NOT add a number after several secods the recording said "thank you that number has been added to our do not call list" and disconnected.
If you get these calls are you're on the National Do Not Call List you NEED to report it to your State's Attorney General, that's the only way we can get them stopped!- Caller: Card Services

- Gary replies to Jann| 2 repliesJan,
There's not much that can be done until the Congress or the FTC starts to take this stuff seriously. I've filed numerous do not call list complaints with my state and the FTC. Basically, the state guy I talked to said there was nothing he could do. The FTC claims to be pursuing the scumbags but it's claimed that for years and we still get a bunch of calls.
It does no good to ignore the call. They just call back. It does no good to talk to someone or press any buttons to be taken off the list. In fact, this is the worse because they get paid if you do something like that. The best thing is to simply hang up but for me it's the call that's the problem. I have to put down something I doing or watching to mess with the stuff.
The problem here is with the law and law enforcement. The Do Not Call list was aimed at otherwise legit businesses that where bothering people with their calls, such as cruise lines, telephone companies, and such. For the most part, these people obey the law because if they're caught they get fined.
Rachel from Card Services and other outfits like that are scammers. They don't have a legit business interest to protect and rarely get caught because of new technology. The FBI, not the FTC, should be going after these folks. - Lou Rae replies to JimI have report them two times. And nothing is done. The Do Not Call List is a big fat joke. So why have it. Just got call from them again today. I must have signed up for the Do Call List silly me. Not funny
- Lou Rae replies to Gary| 1 replyYou are so right. They don't do anything about. Make me so mad. Makes you want to get rid of the phone.
- AJB replies to Lou RaeJust had a call from the same number, Caller ID says Arlington, Wa, and I didn't know any one there so the short message was, as all of y ou are saying... lower your interest rates. I wonder from what!!
A - Logicman| 1 replyYes, indeed nothing can be done until congress and the FCC and FTC and States attorneys general take action, however, in the mean time, if they catch you when you have a minute -0- waste their time and make up a social security number and name and see if you can't make THEM waste their time on a fruitless call. Eventually they will go out of business if enough people smarten up and don't give them identity theft material, but hey, for now, lets all decide to 'fight back' by being obnoxious to them in a way that hits them in THEIR pocketbooks!
- Caller: "Lower your Credit Card" scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Gary replies to LogicmanThere's some pretty funny you tube videos where people play around with them. I've never tried anything with Rachel and her gang but I've had some fun with live calls. Pretend I'm old (well I am 60) and can't hear but have no money for hearing aids. Take real loud and have them repeat things 3 or 4 times.
- Larry| 1 replyCaller ID lower interest. Telemarketer. This should be illegal these dirt bags use your phone (which you pay for) and take up your valuable time for which you receive no compensation. You would think they would be breaking the law, because essentially stealing from you and I.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Gary replies to LarryWhat they're doing is definitely against the law. Problem is that it's a law that is either unenforceable, or not being enforced, or some combination of the two. The FTC and State Attorney Generals say they're doing something, but it's obviously not have a big effect.
Basic problem is that they are trying to use a Do Not Call law to deal with what amounts to organized crime. These people are at least engaged in fraud and identity theft. The FBI should be investigating these guys. The FTC and States don't have the firepower.
Filing complaints is useful because it lets the agencies know there's a problem and we expect them to deal with it. They pretty much know they can't but don't really want to admit it. I talked to a guy from the State (TN) AG's office who called me after I filed a complaint about a year ago. He went through the standard "thank you for your complaint and we're doing all we can to address it" stuff. After I drilled down on the problem with him he admitted that the law is easily evaded and there's essentially nothing they can do about the Rachel From Card Services type robocalls. They can enforce the law against otherwise legit businesses that can be traced. Rachel and all spoof caller ids, change numbers, often operate offshore, and generally can't be traced very well. The FBI needs to deal with these folks.
I've tried to get one of the local Nashville tv stations to send its Investigative Team to the State AG's department and ask why the law isn't being enforced. They're apparently aren't interested, but if they could get some of the enforces on tv and embarrass them a bit maybe enough pressure could be exerted to do something about it. - JDThis telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group. - Ziggy| 3 repliesDon't rely on the 'Do Not Call List', it is complete [***].
The only way to deal with these sons of [***] is to pick-up when they call, then immediately press to disconnect. They'll eventually assume they are blocked and quit calling your number.
The good thing is that everytime you pick up there call, it is regarded as a connection by the phone company they use and they are charged a cost for that.
Remember: pick-up, then disconnect. Don't even raise the phone to your ear or say anything. Then smile, you just cost them money.- Caller: who gives a rats.
