Yes, I too received a text requesting a call back to (360) 489-7217 but a closer examination indicates SMS source to be 1(801) 624-0153.  From this number on 12April11 @ 20:06 the message reads:  Message:  "CARD SERVICES ALERT" Your card has been deactivated.  Please contact us at 360-489-7217.  This appears to be a more sophisticated phishing op then I have ever seen in the past facilitated via a cell phone.  Furthermore I received another bogus text spam last night about the same time.  I would encourage someone to report this to Internet Security center.  I reported this to the local police since a local number was noted.

also rec'd a CARD SERVICES ALERT that my card has been deactivated. Got to wondering what card they were referring to since i have no credit cards.....just bank debit etc...did not want to return call in case it DID ACTIVATE SOMETHING. Not sure what to do....think i'll alert my cell phone carrier...

I received this same text message and called my cell phone carrier.  She put a block on my phones not to get solicitation calls or texts.  I hope it works.

Both my husband and I received text messages last night with  the same  "CARD SERVICES ALERT" Your card has been deactivated.  Please contact us at 360-489-7217" message.

It sounded fishy, so I waited till this morning to call from work...when I did, it was answered by a machine asking me to input my "16 digit card number".  Right, like I would just GIVE out that number an entity I don't know.

There must be a way to actually find out who is behind this scam and pull their plug.

My wife and I received the same text on our phone's with in 2 minutes of each other. I wonder if it is the cell provider or who we bank with. We belong to Verizon and a small Credit Union here  in Washington.

Did you guys respond to any CL ads before you got the txts?  I'm assuming that's how this idiot got ahold of MY number...

No craigslist response from me - always best to create CL account in order to retain anonymity.  I suspect a marketing database was hacked resulting in the 'SMS blast' in hopes that some vulnerable person would give out their credit card numbers! DON'T DO IT!

I got the same text message on my prepaid gophone.  I don't use the phone for anything except talking to my girlfriend.  I think I might have put it on a Fred Meyer Jewelers credit application but nobody else should have the number.
    Here's what it looks like:

Scam. Report to your financial institution and the police. My wife and I both got one within minutes. We have no cards with text alerts. Do not call or give info.
